  • Publication number: 20190168903
Abstract: Either during message selection in an industrial printer (e.g. ink jet or laser marking) for printing onto objects carried past it on a conveyor, or during printing, or both, a printer displays an image associated with the message proposed for printing or being printed. The image may be a picture (e.g. a photograph) of the object on which the message should be printed or the intended customer/end user or the intended use of the object on which the message should be printed. Since a human operator can usually identify an object or intended customer/use more quickly and accurately from a picture than from text, this reduces errors in message selection and/or helps the detection of an incorrect message during printing. The image may be displayed with the associated message or without it.

  • Publication number: 20190146999
Abstract: A system for the management and reporting of serviceability at stores, restaurants, museums, entertainment venues or other locations 130, 140, 150, 160 is disclosed. The system comprises a serviceability information aggregator 125 working in conjunction with serviceability information agents which take the form of apps operating on smart phones, tablets, smart watches or other devices. The serviceability information aggregator 125 receives information from users 120 operating serviceability information agents related to serviceability parameters, such as wait time, line lengths, parking availability, or crowd size, aggregates the information into a serviceability score or scores, and communicates those on request to one or more users 120 via the application agent.

  • Patent number: 10288390
Abstract: A concealed amalgamated neutralizer covertly combines neutralizer material comprised of various combinations of inert materials such as calcium carbonate or silicates with common explosive material for the prevention of malicious use of the explosive material in improvised explosive devices. The concealed amalgamated neutralizer device may vary in shape, size, and color and is therefore adaptable to varying methods of containment typified by common pyrotechnic products. The neutralizer material mimics the explosive material of the pyrotechnic products without detection. Upon disassembly of a concealed amalgamated neutralizer device, the neutralizer material is mixed with and neutralizes the explosive material rendering the explosive material useless as a component for an improvised explosive device.

  • Publication number: 20190109933
Abstract: A method and system for providing a second line service (“SLS”) feature to a subscriber using a telecommunications device (“TD”) which includes receiving at a switch on the network of the subscriber's primary service provider a communication made up of a trigger and a directory number. When the communication is received at the primary service provider's switch, the switch parses the communication and detects the trigger. Once the switch has received the communication, the switch additionally transmits a query message to a SLS platform that manages the SLS feature. As a result of the switch's query message transmission, the switch receives a reply to the query message from the SLS platform. Based at least in part on the reply to the query message, the switch can route the communication such that the switch connects one or multiple voice channel circuit between the subscriber's TD and the terminating TD.

  • Patent number: 10192371
Abstract: Systems and methods for a diagnostic software service that utilizes a subscription model to distribute diagnostic software to diagnostic tools. A diagnostic application is installed on a mobile device. The mobile device communicates with an adapter which can be coupled to a vehicle. An application server provides software modules that are available to be subscribed to by a technician and, once subscribed, can be utilized via the diagnostic application. Subscription to software modules enable the technician to add and utilize specific diagnostic functionality in an a la carte manner.

  • Publication number: 20180376398
Abstract: Multiple mobile cellular network (MCN) communication systems can be networked together to form a network of MCN communication systems (NOM). Each MCN communication system within the NOM can operate as an independent cellular network to provide communications between user equipment within a covered area. When a UE in one MCN of the NOM moves into a different MCN of the NOM, the corresponding MCN communication systems can handover the UE. The UE can also be handed over between MCN communication systems when the MCN communication systems move.

  • Patent number: 10165607
Abstract: A vehicular radio communications system establishes a bi-directional digital radio communications link between a local wireless communication device inside a moving vehicle and a sequence of radio transceivers in a wireless network. The local device operates in a plurality of different device frequency bands and the external transceivers operate in a plurality of different network frequency bands. Some or all of the device frequency bands are the same as some or all of the network frequency bands. The system comprises a set of one or more external radio antennas operating in an external downlink and an external uplink using a network frequency band and a set of one or more local radio antennas operating in a local downlink and a local uplink using a local frequency band different from the network band.

  • Patent number: 9979827
Abstract: A method for routing calls between a third party telecommunications device (“TD”) and a subscriber TD associated with a primary service and a second line service (“SLS”) involves associating the SLS number of the subscriber, the primary number of the subscriber and the primary number of a third party via a common relationship number. Calls directed from a third party to the SLS number of a subscriber are routed to an SLS platform and redirected to the subscriber TD. Calls directed from the subscriber TD to the third party use the relationship number to route the call to the SLS platform. The combination of the SLS number and the relationship number identifies the third party calling number for call completion. Calls can be directed to and from an SLS number of a subscriber TD without having to coordinate the provisioning of a call through the subscriber's primary service provider.

  • Publication number: 20180052901
Abstract: A configuration for a key management system is provided for managing cryptographic keys in cryptosystems. The configuration includes the use of database replication to improve the reliability, accessibility, and partition tolerance of the key management system. The configuration also includes the use of database sharding and distributed networks to improve the functionality of the key management system. From a logical level, the system can appear multi-master because client software can connect with any compute node in a plurality of compute nodes and perform key management operations on the entire key database from that compute node. From a physical level, the system can be a master-slave configuration with each database shard replication group having a single master shard instance and one or more slave shard instances. In some examples, the present disclosure provides better redundancy, load balancing, availability, and partition tolerance for key management systems.

  • Publication number: 20180052902
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-program product for handling network partitions in a network is provided. For example, a method can include providing a first compute node and a second compute node on the network. In such an example, the first compute node can include a master instance of a cryptographic database. In addition, the second compute node can include a first synchronous slave instance associated with the master instance. The method can further include identifying a network partition event on the network. The method can further include providing an asynchronous slave instance associated with the master instance and changing the asynchronous slave instance to a second synchronous slave instance in response to identifying the network partition event.
