  • Patent number: 10782391
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for processing received radiation (e.g. RADAR radiation) reflected from a target, the method comprising generating a set of predicted targets, the set of predicted targets comprising at least one member, each member representing a state of the target, generating a predicted waveform for the radiation for each member dependent upon the state of the target, and comparing each predicted waveform with a waveform of the received radiation to determine the accuracy with which the state of the target represented by the member for which the predicted waveform was generated matches an actual state of the target.

  • Patent number: 10727894
Abstract: Front end systems with switched termination for enhanced intermodulation distortion performance are provided herein. The switched termination can be used on transmit paths and/or receive paths of the front end system to suppress impedance variation when the signal paths are inactive. For example, with respect to switched termination for transmit paths, a front end system can include a frequency multiplexing circuit connected to a band switch by a first radio frequency (RF) signal path and by a second RF signal path. The band switch selectively provides the frequency multiplexing circuit with a first transmit signal over the first RF signal path and with a second transmit signal over the second RF signal path. The front end system further includes a switched termination circuit in shunt with the first RF signal path and operable to turn on to suppress impedance variation when the first RF signal path is inactive.

  • Publication number: 20200142572
Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that leverage underlying digital datasets corresponding to static graphics to generate digital animated data narratives. In various embodiments, a digital narrative animation system receives static data graphics and a corresponding dataset and generate scenes for the data narrative using the static data graphics. Moreover, in one or more embodiments, the digital narrative animation system presents a storyboard animation user interface for customizing animated transitions between the scenes of the data narrative. Specifically, the digital narrative animation system can use the corresponding dataset to drive the animation transitions between scenes by linking values based on the data attached to each element, showing a different version of the data graphic based on a subset of the dataset, and/or changing the timing of an animation as a function of the data attached to each value.

  • Publication number: 20200012867
Abstract: A method of determining the boundary of a driveable space in a scene around a vehicle, comprises capturing a first colour image of the scene, computing a set of histograms of oriented gradients, for instance using a HOG algorithm, each histogram corresponding to a cell in a set of cells, assigning an entropy value to the cell by computing the entropy of the histogram for the cell, dividing the image into bins in a way that corresponds to a rectangular grid in the real world, and calculating an overall entropy value for each bin from the entropy values for the cells in the bin and an overall colour characteristic value for each bin. The entropy value and colour characteristic value for each bin are fed into a classifier that is configured to classify regions of the image corresponding to each bin as regions likely to be driveable space or that are not likely to be driveable space, from which the boundary is derived.
