  • Patent number: 11263129
Abstract: A processor having a functional slice architecture is divided into a plurality of functional units (“tiles”) organized into a plurality of slices. Each slice is configured to perform specific functions within the processor, which may include memory slices (MEM) for storing operand data, and arithmetic logic slices for performing operations on received operand data. The tiles of the processor are configured to stream operand data across a first dimension, and receive instructions across a second dimension orthogonal to the first dimension. The timing of data and instruction flows are configured such that corresponding data and instructions are received at each tile with a predetermined temporal relationship, allowing operand data to be transmitted between the slices of the processor without any accompanying metadata. Instead, each slice is able to determine what operations to perform on received data based upon the timing at which the data is received.

  • Publication number: 20220026007
Abstract: A monolithic pipe cap assembly, and method of production, is described. The monolithic pipe cap assembly comprising a unitary body, a connector integrally formed at a proximal end of the unitary body and a pipe cap integrally formed at a distal end of the unitary body. As no welds are required in the formation of the monolithic pipe cap assemblies there is a significant reduction in the associated production time and a reduced risk of imperfections being formed when compared with the fabricated pipe cap assemblies known in the art. This results in a reduced risk of failure of the monolithic pipe cap assembly when deployed in the field. Connecting the monolithic pipe cap assembly to the section of pipeline is also significantly quicker since this process only requires the employment of a single weld that can be fully inspected prior to operational use.

  • Publication number: 20220001181
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to closed loop deep brain stimulation based on inferred sleep stage from physiological data using machine learning classifiers. Some embodiments, for example, may use subthalamic nucleus (STN) deep brain stimulation (DBS) to treat advanced Parkinsons Disease motor symptoms and improve sleep by identifying sleep stages commensurate with clinician-scored polysomnography (PSG). The DBS may be adapted to include novel artificial neural network (ANN) that triggers targeted stimulation in response to inferred sleep state from STN local field potentials (LFPs) recorded from implanted DBS electrodes. A feedforward neural network can be trained to prospectively identify sleep stage with PSG-level accuracy. In some embodiments, the machine learning model stored within the DB S may also adapt stimulation during specific sleep stages to treat targeted sleep deficits.

  • Patent number: 11195031
Abstract: A method of determining the boundary of a driveable space in a scene around a vehicle, comprises capturing a first colour image of the scene, computing a set of histograms of oriented gradients, for instance using a HOG algorithm, each histogram corresponding to a cell in a set of cells, assigning an entropy value to the cell by computing the entropy of the histogram for the cell, dividing the image into bins in a way that corresponds to a rectangular grid in the real world, and calculating an overall entropy value for each bin from the entropy values for the cells in the bin and an overall colour characteristic value for each bin. The entropy value and colour characteristic value for each bin are fed into a classifier that is configured to classify regions of the image corresponding to each bin as regions likely to be driveable space or that are not likely to be driveable space, from which the boundary is derived.

  • Patent number: 11159194
Abstract: Front end systems with switched termination for enhanced intermodulation distortion performance are provided herein. The switched termination can be used on transmit paths and/or receive paths of the front end system to suppress impedance variation when the signal paths are inactive. For example, with respect to switched termination for transmit paths, a front end system can include a frequency multiplexing circuit connected to a band switch by a first radio frequency (RF) signal path and by a second RF signal path. The band switch selectively provides the frequency multiplexing circuit with a first transmit signal over the first RF signal path and with a second transmit signal over the second RF signal path. The front end system further includes a switched termination circuit in shunt with the first RF signal path and operable to turn on to suppress impedance variation when the first RF signal path is inactive.
