  • Publication number: 20190334573
Abstract: Front end systems with switched termination for enhanced intermodulation distortion performance are provided herein. The switched termination can be used on transmit paths and/or receive paths of the front end system to suppress impedance variation when the signal paths are inactive. For example, with respect to switched termination for transmit paths, a front end system can include a frequency multiplexing circuit connected to a band switch by a first radio frequency (RF) signal path and by a second RF signal path. The band switch selectively provides the frequency multiplexing circuit with a first transmit signal over the first RF signal path and with a second transmit signal over the second RF signal path. The front end system further includes a switched termination circuit in shunt with the first RF signal path and operable to turn on to suppress impedance variation when the first RF signal path is inactive.

  • Publication number: 20190324074
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to detection of a broken conductor in an electric power system. In one embodiment, a broken conductor detector may be configured to be mounted to an electrical conductor and may comprise a communication subsystem configured to transmit a signal configured to indicate that the conductor is broken. A sensor may determine an operating vector. A processing subsystem may be configured to receive the operating vector from the sensor and to identify when the operating vector is outside of a range defined by a rest vector and a threshold value. In certain embodiments, the threshold may comprise a three-dimensional sphere. The processing subsystem may determine that the conductor is broken based on the operating vector remaining outside of the range for a period of time determined by the timer subsystem. A signal may be transmitted by the communication subsystem to indicate that the conductor is broken.

  • Patent number: 10445842
Abstract: A method and system for conducting food item transactions at a sporting facility through peer-to-peer communications between a mobile food consumer and a food provider. The method and system provides a peer-to-peer network that enables peer-to-peer communications between a food consumer traversing a sporting facility, such as a golf course, and a food provider. The food consumer carries a mobile communication device having: a tracking unit, a microphone, and a speaker. Through, peer-to-peer communications, the food consumer inquires about food items, the food provider responds to the inquiry, and the consumer orders a desired food item. The position and speed of motion of the food consumer on the sporting facility is tracked through a satellite communication or communication network operable with the tracking unit. The food provider delivers the food item to the tracked position of the food consumer.

  • Patent number: 10410078
Abstract: A method of processing an image includes a region of a highway in front of the vehicle captured using an imager having a two dimensional array of image capturing pixels. The array includes a first set of pixels substantially independent of hue and a second set of pixels dependent of a limited range of hues. The method further includes the steps of producing a first image where each pixel is assigned a value derived from the first set of pixels and producing a second image where each pixel is assigned a value derived from the first set of pixels and the second set of pixels. The method includes identifying-for at least one pixel in the first image a first intensity change value indicative of the difference between that pixel and at least one adjacent pixel identifying for a corresponding pixel in the second image a second intensity change value indicative of the difference between that pixel and at least one adjacent pixel.

  • Patent number: 10382147
Abstract: Methods of calibrating a power amplifier system to compensate for envelope amplitude misalignment are provided. In certain configurations, a method of calibrating a power amplifier system includes amplifying a radio frequency signal from a transceiver using a power amplifier and generating a supply voltage of the power amplifier using an envelope tracker, including generating a scaled envelope signal based on a power control level signal and an envelope signal, and shaping the scaled envelope signal using a shaping table generated at a target gain compression. The method further includes changing a scaling of the scaled envelope signal using a calibration module, monitoring an output of the power amplifier to determine an amount of scaling of the scaled envelope signal at which a detected gain compression of the power amplifier corresponds to the target gain compression of the shaping table, and calibrating the power amplifier system based on the determination.

  • Publication number: 20190224647
Abstract: The present disclosure provides novel solid sorbents synthesized by the reaction of polyamines with polyaldehyde phosphorous dendrimer (P-dendrimer) compounds. The sorbents are highly stable and exhibit rapid reaction kinetics with carbon dioxide, making the sorbents applicable for carbon capture, and can be easily regenerated for further use. The material is stable to aqueous and organic media, as well as strong acid and bases. The sorbent maintains full capacity over extended use. The material can be used for CO2 capture from pure CO2 streams, mixed gas streams, simulated flue gas, and ambient air. Additionally, the material can be adhered to surfaces for reversible CO2 capture applications outside of bulk particle-based processes.
