  • Patent number: 10435796
Abstract: A method for forming a plurality of precision holes in a substrate by drilling, including affixing a sacrificial cover layer to a surface of the substrate, positioning a laser beam in a predetermined location relative to the substrate and corresponding to a desired location of one of the plurality of precision holes, forming a through hole in the sacrificial cover layer by repeatedly pulsing a laser beam at the predetermined location, and pulsing the laser beam into the through hole formed in the sacrificial cover layer. A work piece having precision holes including a substrate having the precision holes formed therein, wherein a longitudinal axis of each precision hole extends in a thickness direction of the substrate, and a sacrificial cover layer detachably affixed to a surface of the substrate, such that the sacrificial cover layer reduces irregularities of the precision holes.

  • Patent number: 10391257
Abstract: An infusion device includes a housing with an interior chamber sized and configured to hold at least a flange and plunger of a syringe, a trigger held by the housing, and a lever in communication with the trigger and including an upwardly extending cam with a cam path having an upper end. The cam is in communication with the flange of the syringe. In response to actuation of the trigger to dispense fluid from the syringe, the upper end of the cam travels upward above the syringe and longitudinally toward a dispensing end of the syringe to linearly translate the plunger of the syringe in a first direction to dispense fluid from the syringe. To refill fluid into the syringe, the upper end of the cam travels downward and longitudinally away from the dispensing end of the syringe to linearly translate the plunger in a second direction to intake fluid.

  • Publication number: 20190114484
Abstract: An augmented reality optical system comprises a waveguide structure that includes a waveguide layer supported by a substrate. An input grating and an output grating reside within the waveguide layer and are laterally spaced apart. Input light from a display is made incident upon the input grating. The input light is coupled into the waveguide layer and travels therein as multiple guided modes to the output grating. The input and output gratings provide phase matching so that the guided modes are coupled out of the waveguide layer by the output grating continuously along the output grating to form output light. Meantime, light from a scene is transmitted perpendicularly through the output grating so that the output light and the light from the scene are combined by the eye of a user to form an augmented reality image.

  • Patent number: 10010398
Abstract: A filter device has a single hub and a plurality of filter struts extending in a first longitudinal direction. A plurality of wire loops extend in a second longitudinal direction opposite the filter struts. The filter struts and wire loops each engage the vessel wall of a body lumen when deployed. The wire loops limit the filter device from becoming tilted and embedded in the vessel wall. A retrieval device includes a sheath and a snaring mechanism. The snaring mechanism engages a hook member of the filter and the sheath envelopes the wire loops and filter struts. The sheath will cause the wire loops to bend and fold over the filter struts during retrieval such that the wire loops and filter struts extend in the same longitudinal direction after being enveloped by the sheath.
