  • Patent number: 7620380
Abstract: A method for adjusting automatic gain control (AGC) of a radio receiver begins when a primary AGC module establishes an AGC setting for the radio receiver to produce a primary AGC setting. The method continues when a supervisory AGC module compares performance of the radio receiver utilizing the primary AGC setting with a plurality of performance thresholds. The method continues with the supervisory AGC module adjusting the primary AGC setting to produce adjusted AGC setting when the performance of the radio receiver utilizing the primary AGC setting compares unfavorable with a first performance threshold of the plurality of performance thresholds. The method continues with the supervisory AGC module overwriting the primary AGC setting with alternative AGC setting when the performance of the radio receiver utilizing the primary AGC setting compares unfavorable with a second performance threshold of the plurality of performance thresholds.

  • Publication number: 20090260623
Abstract: An aerosolization apparatus comprises a housing defining a chamber having a plurality of air inlets. The chamber contains an aersolizable pharmaceutical formulation or is sized to receive a receptacle which contains an aerosolizable pharmaceutical formulation. A shield covers at least one of the air inlets or a portion of at least one of the air inlets. The shield prevents blockage of the air inlet by a user grasping the apparatus and inadvertently covering the air inlet. An end section is associated with the housing. The end section is sized and shaped to be received in a user's mouth or nose so that the user may inhale through the end section to inhale aerosolized pharmaceutical formulation that has exited the receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20090183099
Abstract: Described are a system and method of navigating graphical user interface comprising a plurality of visual elements. The system comprises an input component for receiving an input and generating a navigational input based on the input, a visual element analyzer for analyzing visual elements to determine if the visual elements have an associated blockade condition, and for passing navigational inputs. The system further comprises a blockade condition analyzer for analyzing visual elements with an associated blockade to determine if the navigational input satisfies the blockade condition and an output component for receiving the navigational inputs passed from the visual element analyzer and for generating the input based on the navigational input.

  • Patent number: 7550660
Abstract: An improved hollow-bodied stringed instrument body having a substantially free edge in the lower bout which reduces the coupling of the resonances of the front plate, back plate, and enclosed volume of air. A selected number of holes of a selected shape create a substantially free edge in the lower bout of the front plate. This substantially free edge reduces the large-amplitude displacement of these plates that occurs due to low frequency resonance coupling. Placement of the free edge allows high frequency resonance of the front plate, which is not due to coupling, to contribute to the tone of the instrument. Reducing the large-amplitude displacement of the plates reduces bass-heavy tone and feedback.

  • Patent number: 7539932
Abstract: A system is disclosed and claimed for debugging Ethernet adapters and Ethernet adapter device drivers by automatically monitoring Ethernet adapter functionality and automatically turning on debug traces upon detecting incorrect Ethernet adapter functionality. An embodiment maintains a counter representing the number of incorrect Ethernet adapter functionality events minus the number of correct Ethernet adapter functionality events. If the counter reaches a threshold value, the Ethernet adapter device driver automatically enables debug traces for storing functionality information to a trace table.

  • Publication number: 20090094205
Abstract: A distributed information network is constructed for gathering information from sites distributed across a globally accessible computer network, i.e., the Internet. The distributed information network preferably includes a root server that stores a list of multiple distributed sites each represented by metadata. A network browser delivers an information search request to the root server, which in response develops a profiled information search request. The information provider of each of the distributed sites stores metadata corresponding to information content that is retrievable in response to the profiled information search request for search results derivable from the information content to which the metadata correspond. A profiled information communication link between the root server and each of the multiple distribution sites enables formation of a path for delivery of the search results to a destination site, from a site or sites represented by the metadata of the profiled information search request.

  • Publication number: 20090055214
Abstract: A system generates one or more of a plurality of wellness programs for a user. Personal data items are entered into a computing system corresponding to a personal profile of the user. A selected one or more of the plurality of wellness programs desired by the user is identified. Selected ones of the plurality of personal data items are then extracted in response to the selected one of the plurality of wellness programs. Then a corresponding plurality of wellness program data elements in response to the selected ones of the plurality of personal data items is determined. The selected plurality of wellness program data elements are then assembled to form a customized wellness program responsive to the step of identifying a selected one of the plurality of wellness programs and the selected ones of the plurality of personal data items. The customized wellness program is recorded on media for the user.

  • Patent number: 7460847
Abstract: A radio receiver, optionally used in conjunction with a handheld audio system, includes a radio stage for processing a received radio signal into an audio signal. An audio stage produces an audio output, based on the audio signal. An overload monitor detects an overload condition in the radio stage and generates an overload signal in response to the detected overload condition. A controller controls the audio output in response to the overload signal.
