  • Publication number: 20190138371
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and devices for system event detection associated with power grid components. Methods include detecting, at a plurality of sensors, emissions from a system event associated with at least one winding of a power component. Methods also include determining, using a processor, a plurality of event parameters based, at least in part, on measurements made by the plurality of sensors, the event parameters identifying arrival times of the emissions at each of the plurality of sensors. Methods further include generating, using the processor, an output identifying an estimate of a position of the system event within the power component, the estimate being generated based, at least in part, on the arrival times identified by the plurality of event parameters.

  • Publication number: 20180357732
Abstract: A passenger ticket, lodging, or other physical space availability may be monitored by obtaining an itinerary record or other dataset associated with a previous space allocation (a previously-booked itinerary or similar purchase, e.g.). This may include, for example, identifying a group of travel segments that corresponds to a ticket or other allocation, “fingerprinting” the allocation, and determining a schedule to periodically monitor terms associated with the allocation. During an availability-monitoring period, an up-to-date version of the itinerary record may be obtained and “fingerprinted,” for example, such fingerprints being usable to determine whether substitutions (identifying more preferable lodging or travel spaces, e.g.) have changed significantly or have already been discovered and implemented, and to take appropriate action (implementing a substitution or updating the itinerary record, e.g.) if so.

  • Publication number: 20180047781
Abstract: A dot matrix light-emitting diode (LED) backlighting light source for a wafer-level microdisplay includes a substrate, multiple LED sets arranged at spaced intervals, a first electrode assembly, and a second electrode assembly. The multiple LED sets have multiple LEDs spaced apart and aligned in a first direction. The first electrode assembly and the second electrode assembly are formed on the multiple LED sets to connect the LEDs of the multiple LED sets in series along the first and second directions to constitute a dot matrix LED light source. Upon manufacture of a wafer-level microdisplay, the dot matrix LED light source can be directly packaged and assembled in a microdisplay, rendering the advantages of compact size and low production cost.

  • Publication number: 20180019573
Abstract: A surface emitting laser with improved efficiency includes a conductive substrate, a metal bonding layer, a laser structure layer, an epitaxial semiconductor reflection layer, and an electrode layer. The laser structure layer has an epitaxial current-blocking layer having a current opening. Currents are only transmitting through the current opening. The epitaxial current-blocking layer is grown by a semiconductor epitaxy process to confine the range of the currents to form electric fields. Heat dissipation and electrical conduction properties are improved by the conductive substrate. Because the epitaxial current-blocking layer is not made by destructive manufacturing method, the efficiency of the surface emitting laser can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20170291090
Abstract: A golf swing trainer apparatus for straightening or otherwise improving a golf swing. The golf swing trainer may include a rod, a handle connected on one end of the rod, a bulb disposed on the other end of the rod, and a magnetic base positioned in the middle of the rod. An impact sliding block may be constrained to move on the rod between the bulb and the magnetic base, and may be held in a rest position by the magnetic base. When the user makes a stroke with the trainer apparatus, the impact sliding block may be forced downward from the magnetic base and may impact the bulb, making a sound to provide the user with feedback about their golf swing.

  • Publication number: 20170051344
Abstract: According to various embodiments described herein, a microfiuidics-chip based purification device and system for Sanger-sequencing reactions is provided. The device and system allow for the introduction into a sequencing system of a cartridge containing purification technologies specific to the sequencing contaminants or sequencing method where the simplified purification solution of a cartridge allows automation of the sample purification process, reduced consumption of purification reagents, and consistency in sampling by reducing the sampling errors and artifacts. These various embodiments therefore solve the need for a microfiuidics-chip-based, Sanger-sequencing reaction purification system for CE devices. The microfiuidic chips described can be used as a PCR chip by reorganizing the on-chip reagents, reaction wells and work flow steps.
