  • Patent number: 10968418
Abstract: Compositions and methods for making and using the compositions for maintaining clean surfaces are disclosed herein. A preferred composition for maintaining clean surfaces is an aqueous solution that comprises water, silicon dioxide, stearic acid, nitrous oxide, hydrogen and a hydrophobic substance. A preferred hydrophobic substance for this preferred composition is a water soluble powder of Polysilsesquioxane Steardimonium Chloride. A preferred method of making such a composition includes the steps of mixing the solid ingredients—silicon dioxide, stearic acid, and the hydrophobic substance, and then mixing the solid ingredients with water until the ingredients are preferably evenly distributed in the solution at preferably a PH of 0-5. A preferred method of using such a composition includes the steps of applying an even layer of the composition onto a surface and allowing the surface to dry.

  • Publication number: 20210095135
Abstract: The invention describes new designs of commercial inkjet or flexographic web and sheet fed presses with pre-coating prior to printing which may upgrade the quality of the substrates and render them printable by all printing technologies including inkjet and digital. Also described are curable water-based coatings, inkjet and flexographic inks and overprint varnishes which may be radiation cured at high speed without the need for external applied heat to remove water. When used as coatings or primers, the compositions of the invention may create a surface on cellulosic substrates, polymeric films and some metal surfaces which are suitable for printing on by most printing methods including but not limited to inkjet, wet and dry toner systems, lithographic, gravure, flexographic and 4-D printing. The primer/coatings may also add up to 35% tensile strength to lightweight “thin” papers.

  • Patent number: 10823172
Abstract: A method of operating a rolling piston rotary compressor includes obtaining an angular position and an angular speed of a rolling piston of the compressor, for example, using a tachometer or shaft encoder or observer. The method further includes obtaining an electromagnetic torque applied by an electric motor that is mechanically coupled to the rolling piston. The method further includes calculating a load torque exerted on the rolling piston based on these obtained values by using a load torque observer model that is formulated using known geometries of the compressor and thermodynamic models for the gas compression process. The operation of the electric motor is then adjusted such that the electromagnetic torque applied by the motor is equivalent to the calculated load torque such that noise and vibrations are minimized.

  • Patent number: 10779527
Abstract: A reed-actuated animal call having a double-reed assembly and triple-reed assembly. The double-reed assembly has a short reed positioned atop a long reed positioned atop a sound board. An air passage is formed in the top of the sound board underneath the long reed. The long reed extends a determined length beyond the end of the short reed, the short reed constraining the long reed to enable the rapid activation of the long reed. The triple-reed assembly has an additional mid-length reed positioned between the short and long reeds. The long reed extends a determined length beyond the end of the mid-length reed, the mid-length reed extends a determined length beyond the short reed above the sound board, and the mid-length and short reeds constrain the long reed so as to enable the rapid activation of the long reed with a different resonance than the double-reed assembly.

  • Patent number: 10587211
Abstract: A linear compressor and methods of operation, for example, to detect polarity for the linear compressor are provided herein. The method may include supplying an initial time varying voltage to the motor of the linear compressor at an assumed polarity; estimating a first acceleration of the motor of the linear compressor when the motor is at a bottom dead center position; estimating a second acceleration of the motor of the linear compressor when the motor is at a top dead center position; comparing the first acceleration to the second acceleration; and determining whether the assumed polarity is correct based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 10539439
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for device-free motion detection and presence detection within an area of interest. A plurality of nodes, configured to be arranged around the area of interest, form a wireless network. The plurality of nodes transmit wireless signals as radio waves and receive transmitted wireless signals. The received signal strength (RSS) of the transmitted wireless signals between the plurality of nodes are measured and a value is reported. A computing device receives the reported values for the measured RSS and tracks the reported values over time. The computing device processes the reported values using an aggregate disturbance calculation to detect motion and presence within the area of interest. The computing device may notify notification device of a detected disturbance within the area of interest.

  • Patent number: 10498778
Abstract: A conference management system that is capable of managing one or more panels within a teleconference. The conference manager is capable of receiving commands for the purposes of configuring one or more panels and, during a teleconference, activating various panels at various times. In particular, the conference manager is configured to add participants in a teleconference to a panel. The conference manager is also configured to activate a panel, which has the effect of unmuting the audio and video media of the participants previously identified as members of the panel. The conference manager can be further configured to restore the conference to its previous mode, such as a lecture mode in which a lecturer participant is identified as a permanent speaker such that activating and deactivating a panel does not result in the lecturer being muted. Muting treatments other than activating a panel can also be applied to the teleconference.

  • Publication number: 20190240784
Abstract: A method of reworking an aerospace component includes removing a casting defect from a component manufactured of a non-fusion weldable base alloy to form a cavity. The cavity is then at least partially filled with a multiple of layers of discrete laser powder deposition spots of a filler alloy. A cast component for a gas turbine engine includes a cast component non-fusion weldable base alloy with a cavity filled with a multiple of layers of laser powder deposition spots of a filler alloy. The filler alloy may be different than the non-fusion weldable base alloy. A layer of non-fusion weldable base alloy is at least partially within the cavity and over the filler alloy.

  • Patent number: 10341452
Abstract: A conference management system, network, and method for enabling the management of teleconference resources across multiple telecommunications networks that serve multiple conference domains. A disclosed multi-domain conference manager (MDCM) subscribes to a network management platform and for one or more sets of entities. Each set defines a particular combination of i) communications service provider(s) (CSP) and ii) enterprise, in which the combination defines a particular scope of management. When a conference-related event occurs, such as a particular conference involving video endpoints being set up with a unified communications (UC) network, the MDCM can notify a CSP network that is within a same scope of management as the UC network, to report on related events as they occur. The MDCM can then coordinate the connection of resources associated with the multiple domains via a cascaded link between bridging resources that serve the different domains.

  • Patent number: 10291160
Abstract: A method of operating a synchronous motor includes using a rotor angle observer model to calculate an observed rotor angle and a speed estimator model to calculate an observed angular speed of the rotor. The observed rotor angle may be used to ensure that the stator magnetic field generated by the stator is oriented 90° ahead of the rotor magnetic field. The observed angular speed may be used to regulate the motor operation to achieve the desired speed.

  • Patent number: RE47686
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure describe a wheeled vehicle having a structure attached thereto and configured to acquire within the interior of the structure a vehicle to be inspected. The structure is configured to receive the vehicle within its interior. In example implementations, the structure is located relative to the wheeled vehicle such that the vehicle to be inspected is loaded into and received within the structure during travel of the wheeled vehicle past the vehicle to be inspected. Having loaded the vehicle into the structure, the vehicle may be inspected. Once inspection is complete, the vehicle may be unloaded from the structure. In example implementations, the structure is located relative to the wheeled vehicle such that the inspected vehicle is unloaded from the structure during travel of the wheeled vehicle past the inspected vehicle. The wheeled vehicle may transport the structure to the site of another vehicle to be inspected.
