  • Publication number: 20210081711
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating a training set of images and labels for a native environment includes receiving physical coordinate sets, retrieving environmental model data corresponding to a georeferenced model of the environment, and creating a plurality of two-dimensional (2-D) rendered images each corresponding to a view from one of the physical coordinate sets. The 2-D rendered images include one or more of the environmental features. The method also includes generating linking data associating each of the 2-D rendered images with (i) labels for the one or more included environmental features and (ii) a corresponding native image. Additionally, the method includes storing the training set including the 2-D rendered images, labels, corresponding native images, and linking data.

  • Patent number: 10949930
Abstract: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may facilitate insurance-related tasks. UAVs may actively be dispatched to an area surrounding an insured or potentially insured asset, such as with the insurance customer's permission, and collect data related to the insured or potentially insured asset, such as size, height, roof shape, materials (siding, roofing), etc. which may form a basis of the underwriting detail used to evaluate a property. The drone data may reveal site characteristics, such as slope or grade of a parcel; the proximity to other structures (and their uses); trees; rivers; coastlines; and earthquake faults. The drone data may be used by an insurance provider remote server to assess the risk associated with an insured asset, generate or modify an insurance premium or discount, etc. The drone data may also be used to mitigate risk and prevent loss by alerting policyholders of the risk such that corrective action may be taken.

  • Patent number: 10949929
Abstract: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may facilitate insurance-related tasks. UAVs may actively be dispatched to an insured asset and the area surrounding an insured asset, such as with the policyholder or insured's permission and collect data related to the insured asset, such as images, video, audio, weather conditions, thermal signatures, wood and soil samples, etc., and transmit this data to a computing device. The computing device may be associated with and/or utilized by an insurance provider to perform insurance-related tasks, such as processing the data to determine an amount of risk associated with the insured asset. If the amount of risk has increased, the computing device may provide a recommendation to a mobile device of the policyholder on how to reduce the risk such that corrective action may be taken. Insurance discounts may be provided based upon following recommendations that mitigate risk.

  • Patent number: 10949747
Abstract: A computer trains a neural network model. (A) Observation vectors are randomly selected from a plurality of observation vectors. (B) A forward and backward propagation of a neural network is executed to compute a gradient vector and a weight vector. (C) A search direction vector is computed. (D) A step size value is computed. (E) An updated weight vector is computed. (F) Based on a predefined progress check frequency value, second observation vectors are randomly selected, a progress check objective function value is computed given the weight vector, the step size value, the search direction vector, and the second observation vectors, and based on an accuracy test, the mini-batch size value is updated. (G) (A) to (F) are repeated until a convergence parameter value indicates training of the neural network is complete. The weight vector for a next iteration is the computed updated weight vector.

  • Publication number: 20210051217
Abstract: A first add-in card is connected to a second add-in card via a network communication link using a first network protocol. The first add-in card determines that a first network interface device is directly connected to a second network interface device via the network communication link, and directs that the first and second network interface devices communicate via a second network protocol based upon the first network interface device being directly connected to the second network interface device via the network communication link. The second network protocol transmits a higher proportion of data than the first network protocol.
