  • Patent number: 10650469
Abstract: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may facilitate insurance-related tasks. UAVs may actively be dispatched to an area surrounding an insured or potentially insured asset, such as with the insurance customer's permission, and collect data related to the insured or potentially insured asset, such as size, height, roof shape, materials (siding, roofing), etc. which may form a basis of the underwriting detail used to evaluate a property. The drone data may reveal site characteristics, such as slope or grade of a parcel; the proximity to other structures (and their uses); trees; rivers; coastlines; and earthquake faults. The drone data may be used by an insurance provider remote server to assess the risk associated with an insured asset, generate or modify an insurance premium or discount, etc. The drone data may also be used to mitigate risk and prevent loss by alerting policyholders of the risk such that corrective action may be taken.

  • Patent number: 10643038
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring objects being placed onto a plurality of pallets. A controller is configured to analyze images captured by the plurality of camera devices to determine when a first object is placed onto a first one of the plurality of pallets. Upon determining that the first object has been placed onto the first pallet, the controller can determine a first identifier corresponding to the first object using the RFID reader corresponding to the first pallet and can determine an intended pallet corresponding to the first object. Upon determining that the first pallet onto which the first object was placed is not the intended pallet for the first object, the user is notified using the feedback mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10643070
Abstract: A device may receive an image stream of an environment of an electronic display. The device may detect that a target is in the environment, wherein the target is detected based on the image stream including an image associated with the target. The device may identify that a first object is associated with the target, wherein the first object is identified based on the object recognition model being trained to recognize the first object. The device may determine a characteristic of the first object and may determine that a second object is in the environment. The device may generate content that is to be displayed via the electronic display, wherein the content is generated based on the characteristic of the first object and a characteristic of the second object. The device may cause the content to be displayed via the electronic display to permit the target to access the content.

  • Publication number: 20200127157
Abstract: Methods for fabricating semiconductor devices incorporating an activated p-(Al,In)GaN layer include exposing a p-(Al,In)GaN layer to a gaseous composition of H2 and/or NH3 under conditions that would otherwise passivate the p-(Al,In)GaN layer. • Publication number: 20200114843
Abstract: A system for detecting a damage condition associated with an agricultural machine. The system can include a component of the agricultural machine and a movement sensor configured to measure a movement parameter associated with the component. The system can include a controller communicatively coupled with the movement sensor. The controller can include a processor and associated memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the controller to perform operations. The operations may include monitoring the movement parameter associated with the component and detecting a change in the monitored movement parameter over time that is associated with a damage pattern. The damage pattern may be indicative of damage to the agricultural machine. The operations may include automatically initiating a corrective action associated with preventing further damage to the agricultural machine when it is detected that the monitored movement parameter has experienced the damage pattern.

  • Publication number: 20200104757
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that determine whether wait times for attractions of a theme park are shorter or longer than expected and notify guests of these shorter or longer wait times. In particular, the systems and methods determine a wait time value for an attraction by dividing a wait time for the attraction by a total wait time for all attractions of the theme park, and compare the wait time value to one or more threshold values based on an expected wait time for the attraction. In this manner, theme park guests may make a more informed decision on which attraction to wait for, and maximize their time at the theme park.

  • Patent number: 10564428
Abstract: A near eye display comprising: a display device; and a waveguide; wherein the waveguide comprises an entry diffractive element and an exit diffractive element; wherein the display device is arranged to direct light into the waveguide via the entry diffractive element and wherein the exit diffractive element is arranged to direct light from the waveguide towards a user's eye; wherein the display device is arranged to output images in a repeating sequence of two or more different colours. Providing the images are transmitted in sufficiently quick succession, the brain will not perceive them as separate images, but will instead essentially merge them (as if they were overlaid on top of one another. As the brain is good at pattern recognition, it can compensate for any minor misalignments that occur between the different images. In this way the time-multiplexing approach avoids the need for multiple parallel waveguides for each specific colour or colour band.
