  • Publication number: 20020052155
Abstract: An electrical test probe tip, comprising a conductive flexible coil having a first end and a second end. The first end is for flexibly coupling with a device to be probed. The second end is attached to a connector. The connector may be an integral connection with a probing head or may be a connecting pin. Multiple test probe spring tips may be used to simultaneously probe signal and ground reference points. The present invention is also directed to a method for using the flexible spring tip.

  • Patent number: 6222378
Abstract: A probing adapter for Ball-Grid-Array packages has an elongate body with a centrally disposed slotted region formed therein containing a slider that is movable within the slotted region. An electrically conductive plunger is attached to the slider and electrically coupled to an electrical contact exposed outside of the probe body. An electrode extends from the plunger and through an aperture formed in one end of the probe body to expose a hooked-shaped contact for making electrical contact with a solder ball contact of the ball grid assay package.

  • Patent number: 5136237
Abstract: A measurement probe has a probe tip coaxially disposed within one end of a elongate cylindrical outer conductor with the probe tip extending beyond the end of the outer conductor. A body of insulating material surrounds the outer conductor and a portion of the probe tip to provide electrical isolation between the probe tip and the outer conductor. A notch is formed in the insulating material distant from the probe tip to expose the outer conductor for providing an electrical connection between an outer conductor of a removable adapter and the elongate cylindrical outer conductor of the measurement probe. The measurement probe meets all safety standards for use as a floating measurement probe as well as being adaptable for providing a coaxial signal path having a common voltage ground.
