  • Patent number: 5388103
Abstract: A frequency stabilizer for use in a time-division multiplexed digital cellular system is designed to reduce the consumption of electric power by means of a receiving circuit in continuous frequency control. The frequency stabilizer includes a pair of latches 4 and 5 for latching a phase error of an output signal from a phase error integrating circuit 2, a subtractor 6 for outputting the difference between respective output signals from the latches 4, 5, and a selector switch 8 for selecting and outputting an output signal from a phase-to-frequency converter 3 in the period of a reception slot and an output signal from a frequency correcting circuit 7 between reception slots. When the selector switch 8 is selecting the output signal from the frequency correcting circuit 7, no electrical energy is supplied to the receiving circuit. Even when the frequency stabilizer is in continuous operation, the receiving circuit operates only during the reception slot, resulting in reduced consumption of electrical energy.

  • Patent number: 5388090
Abstract: An information recording and reproducing method and apparatus with increased recording density of an information recording medium using the sample servo method driven with a fixed angular velocity from the innermost circumference to the outmost circumference. A disk-shaped recording medium is concentrically divided into a plurality of areas. Recording is performed with a recording density suited for the radial position of each of the areas. The width of the areas is set so that the recording capacity of a user data section sandwiched between servo sections forming a segment may increase with every transition to an outer adjacent area while taking one byte as a unit. The recording and reproducing apparatus has a clock generating circuit for servo data extraction and a clock generating circuit for user data extraction. The latter clock generating circuit is synchronized by a synchronizing pulse generated by the former clock generating circuit.

  • Patent number: 5144560
Abstract: An engine control apparatus for shifting an ignition timing signal to an ignition coil (48) so that the engine produces optimum torque generates a pseudo random signal (26) which is preferably an M series signal and applies the pseudo random signal to a parameter of the engine having a noise frequency component such as the engine rotational speed y(t). The M series signal is a signal having a impulse type self correlation function. A mutual correlation function of the number of revolutions of the internal combustion engine and of the M series signal is computed (30-44) and an optimum ignition advance angle is supplied to an adder (46). The adder (46) combines the optimized signal ignition advance angle with a basic ignition timing signal (.theta..sub.advB) to provide an ignition timing signal (.theta.ig) to the ignition coil (48).

  • Patent number: 4934328
Abstract: A method for feedback controlling air-fuel ratio of the mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders comprises the steps of, detecting respective air-fuel ratios of the exhaust gas from the respective cylinders with an air-fuel ratio sensor having a substantially linear output characteristic; calculating an average air-fuel ratio by using the latest detected air-fuel ratios of the respective cylinders; determining a fundamental feedback correction coefficient .beta..sub.0 for a cylinder of which air fuel ratio is feedback controlled next; retrieving a learning correction coefficient .beta..sub.1 for the cylinder of which air-fuel ratio is feedback controlled next from a learning map prepared by learning for the corresponding cylinder; and determining new learning correction coefficients .beta..sub.
