  • Patent number: 7972287
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device that provides thermal energy therapy, compression therapy and negative pressure therapy simultaneously and/or in conjunction with each therapy. The outcome of the present invention is that a patient's bodily fluids can be maintained, controlled, and/or adjusted with decreased medication dependence. Using these three therapies individually does not obtain these desired results of controlling, maintaining or adjusting the patient's bodily fluid. This combination of therapies is beneficial to the patient.

  • Publication number: 20090276197
Abstract: A method (200) is described for the characterisation of vibrational and/or acoustic transfer path related data of a physical system (100). The physical system (100) thereby may be any physical system wherein vibration or acoustics may play a role. The method (200) comprises receiving (210) input data for at least one input point of the physical system and/or response data for at least one response point of the physical system (100). The method (200) further comprises receiving (220) at least one system response function between the at least one input point and the at least one response point indicative of the transfer of vibration and/or acoustic signals. The method (200) also comprises applying (230) at least one parametric model characterising at least one load on the physical system as a function of said input data, whereby the parametric models are identified from said input data and/or response data and said physical system response functions.

  • Publication number: 20090213517
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for switching at least one current includes a switching mechanism located in a switching chamber. The switching mechanism interrupts and connects a current path in an orderly fashion. Switching devices frequently have a protective function, e.g. relative to a power grid, and it is therefore desirable for supporting the protective function to identify faults and/or wear within the switching device. To this end, the switching device includes at least one temperature measuring unit that aids in detecting faults and wear within the switching device.

  • Patent number: 7432789
Abstract: An electromagnetic switching device includes an electromagnetic drive device and at least one electrical contact that, when a starting current is applied to the drive device, can be transferred by the drive device from a disconnect position (contact opened) into a bridging position (contact closed). When the switching device is fully installed, the contact can be blocked in the disconnect position and can be mechanically blocked in the disconnect position by an arresting element that can be connected to the switching device. As a result, the contact remains in the disconnect position even when the starting current is applied to the drive device.

  • Publication number: 20080077205
Abstract: The present invention is directed to using a thermoregulatory sensor in conjunction with a cooling-normothermic-heating device that applies a desired thermal energy to a target heat exchange surface of a mammal that is under negative pressure. The thermoregulatory sensor, unlike the prior art, does not initiate and/or control the thermal energy applied to the mammal. Instead the thermoregulatory sensor initiates, controls and/or manages the negative pressure applied to the target heat exchange surface. By initiating, controlling and/or managing the negative pressure, (1) the vasodilation of the target heat exchange surface is also controlled and/or managed and/or (2) thermal communion between the exchange surfaces (skin and heat exchanger) is controlled, and/or managed.
