  • Publication number: 20230156671
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may obtain an indication that a network node is configured to accept a request for the network node to perform network coding for a communication from the UE. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the UE being within an area associated with the network node, the request for the network node to perform the network coding for the communication. • Patent number: 11653264
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, handling header compression in scenarios with concurrent connections, such as make-before-break (MBB) handover or dual connectivity (DC) scenarios. A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) can include concurrently communicating with a first base station (BS) on a connection with the first BS and with a second BS on a connection with the second BS during a handover procedure. The UE maintains a context for a header compression protocol for the connection with the first BS and the connection with the second BS. The concurrently communicating includes using the header compression protocol context for sending one or more packets, receiving one or more packets, or both.

  • Publication number: 20230146058
Abstract: A configuration to enable a UE to monitor the state of the connection with a peer UE in a sidelink communication. The apparatus establishes one or more unicast links with a second UE. The apparatus changes a connection state with the second UE from a sidelink disconnected state to a sidelink connected state based on an establishment of a first of the one or more unicast links. The apparatus changes the connection state with the second UE from the sidelink connected state to the sidelink disconnected state when each of the one or more unicast links with the second UE is released or when a configured timer expires.

  • Publication number: 20230077496
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE receives an indication of one or more timers associated with a radio resource control (RRC) connection establishment procedure or an RRC connection re-establishment procedure with a network entity via a relay. The UE transmits a request associated with an RRC connection to a second UE to be relayed to the network entity and monitors for a response from the network entity based on the one or more timers associated with the RRC connection establishment procedure or the RRC connection re-establishment procedure via the second UE as the relay.

  • Publication number: 20230072379
Abstract: In an aspect, a first UE communicates (e.g., transmits and/or receives) traffic of a first type with a second UE via a unicast link. The first UE sets up support for transport of traffic of a second type over the unicast link. The first UE tunnels (e.g., transmits and/or receives) the traffic of the second type between the first UE and the second UE over the unicast link. In another aspect, instead of tunneling the traffic of the second type over the same unicast link, the first UE sets up a second unicast link for traffic of the second type with the second UE, with the unicast links having a shared link management status. In another aspect, a BS allocates a set of resources to support the associated (e.g., bound) unicast link.

  • Publication number: 20230053351
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine to operate as a relay UE based on a set of thresholds configured for the first UE. The UE may transmit a relay discovery announcement on a communication channel of a sidelink to indicate support for relay communications. A remote UE may monitor for and receive the relay discovery announcement on the sidelink communications channel. The remote UE may select the relay UE based on a set of criteria for selecting a candidate relay UE. The remote UE and the relay UE may establish the relay communications based on the relay discovery announcement transmitted on the communications channel of the relay sidelink.

  • Patent number: 11582823
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One example method for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) includes detecting a radio link failure (RLF) condition for a connection between the UE and a network over a first cell group and determining, in response to detecting the RLF condition, whether an air interface resource allocation is available for a signaling radio bearer (SRB) between the UE and the network over another cell group. The method also includes selecting, based at least in part on the determination, one of a plurality of RLF procedures. In some examples, the UE may select a first RLF procedure that fully releases radio resources when no SRB is available and a different, second RLF procedure that partially when an SRB is available between the UE and the network over a second cell group.

  • Publication number: 20230039791
Abstract: Aspects relate to a relay device detecting a change in a protocol data unit (PDU) session configuration that the relay device has established for a user equipment (UE) that accesses a network via the relay device. Upon detecting this change, the relay device signals an indication of the change to the UE. Aspects also relate to UE that is connected to a relay device and that reselects an interworking function (e.g., a non-3rd Generation Partnership Project interworking function (N3IWF)). In some examples, the UE receives an indication from the relay device that a serving relay PDU session configuration has changed and, in response, the UE selects a new interworking function.
