  • Publication number: 20220279613
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for early measurement associated with configuring with multiple secondary nodes (SNs). In one aspect, the configuration of multiple SNs may be improved by allowing a master node (MN) to determine a multi-SN configuration based at least in part on measurements of actual channel conditions as seen by the UE. Enabling the MN to receive the measurement information early during a process associated with establishing a connection between the UE and the MN may thereby improve efficiency and reduce latency associated with the configuration of multiple SNs.

  • Patent number: 11412419
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for a handover procedure that allows a user equipment (UE) to keep both the source and the target base station until after handover is complete while using a single packet data convergence protocol (PDCP). In the procedure, a source base station may decide to configure bearers as split bearers during handover. Then, the source base station may transmit a handover request to the target base station, and the radio bearer configuration is added to the handover preparation and response messages. The target base station may transmit the decision on the proposed configuration in a handover response message to the source base station. The source base station may transmit a handover command to the UE with the radio bearer configuration, and the UE may configure its bearers and will maintain the split bearer configuration until the UE receives a new bearer configuration.

  • Patent number: 11405972
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One example method for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) includes detecting a radio link failure (RLF) condition for a connection between the UE and a network over a first cell group and determining, in response to detecting the RLF condition, whether an air interface resource allocation is available for a signaling radio bearer (SRB) between the UE and the network over another cell group. The method also includes selecting, based at least in part on the determination, one of a plurality of RLF procedures. In some examples, the UE may select a first RLF procedure that fully releases radio resources when no SRB is available and a different, second RLF procedure that partially when an SRB is available between the UE and the network over a second cell group.

  • Patent number: 11310004
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a master node (MN) may receive an acknowledgment message from a secondary node (SN). The MN and the SN may provide dual connectivity with a core network for a user equipment. The MN may provide an address indication message to the SN. The address indication message may include MN downlink transport network layer (TNL) information for an SN terminated data radio bearer (DRB) that requires master cell group (MCG) resources. The address indication message may be provided in a first message that immediately follows the acknowledgment message. In some aspects, the SN may receive the address indication message, and may forward, based at least in part on the MN downlink TNL information, downlink data for the SN terminated DRB that requires MCG resources.
