  • Publication number: 20220052788
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to support transmitting a network coded combined message to a second wireless device that may have missed at least one sidelink message included in another network coded combined message. A first wireless device may identify that the sidelink messages are configured for network coding based on information associated with the sidelink messages. Control information associated with the network coded combined message may indicate that the network coded message is a network coded combined retransmission of the sidelink messages, and may further include information identifying the sidelink messages and devices that transmitted the sidelink messages. The first wireless device may combine the sidelink messages into the network coded combined message and may transmit the control information and the associated network coded combined sidelink message to the second wireless device, which may support decoding of one or more missed sidelink messages.

  • Patent number: 11246069
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communications in a wireless network during handover and/or dual connectivity operations are provided. A user equipment (UE) transmits, to a first base station (BS), a first communication signal based on a first time-division multiplexed (TDM) configuration. The UE transmits, to a second BS different from the first BS, a second communication signal, the second communication signal being multiplexed with the first communication signal based on the first TDM configuration. The UE transmits, to the first BS, a third communication signal based on a second TDM configuration different from the first TDM configuration. The first TDM configuration and the second TDM configuration are associated with a handover from the first BS to the second BS. The UE transmits, to the second BS, a fourth communication signal, the fourth communication signal being multiplexed with the third communication signal based on the second TDM configuration.

  • Publication number: 20220014982
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for determining a target base station timing advance value between a user equipment (UE) and target base station in connection with a random access channel (RACH)-less handover procedure. In one aspect, the UE may determine the target base station's timing advance based at least in part on a timing difference between the target base station and the source base station and based at least in part on a timing offset associated with an uplink and a downlink of the UE. In some aspects, the target base station may determine the timing advance using an uplink reference signal of the UE. In some aspects, the UE may report a timing difference between the target base station and the source base station, and the source cell may determine a timing advance based at least in part on the timing difference.

  • Publication number: 20210385714
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for layer 2 relay user equipment (UE) mobility. A relay UE relays data between a first network entity and a remote UE based on a first configuration of the remote UE. The relay UE may receive, from the first network entity on a first connection, a handover request that includes a second configuration for a second network entity or a third configuration for the remote UE. The relay UE determines whether dual active protocol stack radio link control channels are configured for the remote UE based on the first configuration or the third configuration. The relay UE establishes a second connection with the second network entity based on the second configuration, and transmits, to the remote UE, a handover status indicating a result of establishing the second connection with the second network entity.

  • Publication number: 20210337381
Abstract: Various aspects pertain to ways to securing a peer-to-peer communication link that serves to relay transmissions to/from a managed mobile network node. A first user equipment may identify a second user equipment that can communicate via a peer-to-peer wireless interface and serve as a relay between the first user equipment and a managed mobile network node. A relay session key material may be obtained from the managed mobile network node. A peer-to-peer communication link between the first user equipment and the second user equipment may be established or modified by, for example, securing the peer-to-peer communication link based on the relay session key material. A protocol data unit session may be established, over the peer-to-peer communication link, between the first user equipment and the managed mobile network node for secured transmissions there between.

  • Publication number: 20210321294
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, handling header compression in scenarios with concurrent connections, such as make-before-break (MBB) handover or dual connectivity (DC) scenarios. A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) can include concurrently communicating with a first base station (BS) on a connection with the first BS and with a second BS on a connection with the second BS during a handover procedure. The UE maintains a context for a header compression protocol for the connection with the first BS and the connection with the second BS. The concurrently communicating includes using the header compression protocol context for sending one or more packets, receiving one or more packets, or both.
