  • Patent number: 5608376
Abstract: A brake pad wear probe contains a plurality of terminals turned or bent into a U-shape with their tip positions offset from each other. The terminals are cut in stages according to the wear development degree of the brake pad. The terminals define energization routes to electro-magnetic coils at relays, and the broken line state of the terminal can be detected at the respective relay by detection of a break in its corresponding energization route. As a result, electro-magnetic switches work in response to the wear development degree, turning on predetermined indicator lamps of a display to inform a driver of the brake wear condition.

  • Patent number: 5458426
Abstract: A connector includes a connector housing and at least one metal terminal. The connector housing has at least one terminal accommodating hole for receiving the metal terminals, a primary locking device for elastically engaging with the metal terminals, at least one fallout preventing protrusion formed on the wall of the terminal accommodating holes, and at least one window for inserting a jig. The metal terminal includes a secondary locking device extended from the metal terminal, confronting with the window when the metal terminal is locked by the primary locking device while avoiding interference with the fallout preventing protrusion. The secondary locking device is adopted to be deformed by a jig inserted into the window to engage with the fallout preventing protrusion.

  • Patent number: 5347858
Abstract: A wear-detection probe for a brake lining material comprises: a detection conductor which-extends a given length toward the rotor from the side of the brake lining material facing away from the rotor; a probe body housing supporting the detection conductor; a probe connector housing detachably connected to tile probe body housing; and a pair of terminals supported in the probe connector housing, the terminals contacting the detection conductor when the probe connector housing is connected to the probe body housing. The conductor either contacts the rotor or is cut off by the rotor when a predetermined thickness remains in the brake lining material due to wear. Since it is possible to exchange probes without exchanging harnesses, the cost for replacing the probe is greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 5307673
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a wear-detection probe for a brake lining material which prevents a U-turned portion 61 of a detector K from shifting in a housing and avoids an increase of parts and steps of forming the probe 50. A hole 53 is formed within part of the inner periphery of an insulated electrical wire 60 in a housing 55 by drawing out of the housing 55 a pin 100 which serves to prevent the wire from being shifted in a mold upon mold-forming. A reinforcement bridge 54 is integrally formed in the hole 53 by the same resin material 70 as that 70 of the housing 55. Since the reinforcement bridge 54 is integrally formed in the hole 53 made by drawing the pin 100 out of the molded housing 55, it is possible to increase the strength of the probe 50 and to position the U-turned portion 61 in the housing 55 by the support of the reinforcement bridge 54.

  • Patent number: 5279030
Abstract: An electric wire insert is first produced from a primary product 10 having support projections 13 which abut on the interior of a mold and at least one bore 12 is provided on a final portion to be a part of the exterior of a resin-molded portion 1 so that at least one of the electric wires 22 extends through the bore 12 having a slightly smaller internal diameter than the external diameter of the electric wires. After inserting a terminal-pressed electric wire 20, the primary product 10 with the terminal electric wire 20 is set and disposed in position in the mold by the support projections 13. Then, a secondary forming operation is carried out. Thus, a resin-molded product 1 is formed in which a secondary forming resin covers the exterior of the primary product 10.
