  • Patent number: 7239773
Abstract: A light source supplies optical signal to an optical switch and a detector detects light receiving level. A control unit changes a deflection control amount for changing an angle of a tilt mirror, and outputs the deflection control amount to a driving unit. When an input and an output ports are same, optical offset of the tilt mirror is calculated based on optimal angle at which the light detector detects an optimal point of the light receiving level. Whenever the input and the output port are different, a structure parameter of the tilt mirror is calculated based on the optical offset and the optimal angle. The optical offset and the structure parameter are stored in a memory as a test result.

  • Patent number: 7233741
Abstract: An optical exchange for a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) network performs a switching operation on a plurality of optical signals, which are input via a plurality of input ports, and outputs the resulting optical signals to a plurality of output ports, which are allocated to the input ports, by making deflection the optical signal; target amounts of the deflection to which the respective input optical signals are stored. The deflection is made using a switching controller, which reads out the target amount of deflection for such destination-of-switching output port with respect to such object-of-switching port, and controlling the deflection in such a manner that the individual input optical signals are deflected based on the respective target amounts of deflection. And during the switching, the power-level controller performs a feedback control for adjusting a power level of the individual deflected output optical signal to a target power level.

  • Publication number: 20070085445
Abstract: A stabilization apparatus according to the present invention comprises a stopper which is in contact under pressure with one side face of a movable body capable of swinging around a torsion bar, this one side face being vertical to an axial direction of the movable body, to damp the movable body. The stopper is displaced between a first position at which the stopper is in contact under pressure with the side face of the movable body, and a second position apart from the side face, according to a drive voltage applied to a stopper electrode. The drive voltage for the stopper electrode is controlled by a control section at the appropriate timing according to a drive condition of the movable body. As a result, the resonance operation can be reliably suppressed even when an angle of the movable mirror is changed at a high speed, and thus, it becomes possible to stabilize the movable mirror to be in a desired state in a short time.

  • Patent number: 6901222
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a terminal device including a photodetector, amplitude detecting circuit, light source, drive circuit, and control circuit. The photodetector receives a first optical signal. The amplitude detecting circuit detects the amplitude of an output from the photodetector. The drive circuit supplies a drive current to the light source so that the light source outputs a second optical signal. The control circuit decreases and increases the drive current according to an increase and decrease in the amplitude detected by the amplitude detecting circuit, respectively. In the case that this terminal device is used with another terminal device to construct a network, the dynamic range of the other terminal device can be reduced. Accordingly, the use of this terminal device can improve the extensibility of the network.
