  • Publication number: 20200214259
Abstract: An animal control apparatus includes a belt to be removably secured about the midsection of a user and a strap attached to the belt at first and second attachment locations on an outside surface of the belt such that a portion of the strap extends along a portion of the outside surface of the belt between the first and second attachment locations. Spacing the first attachment location from the second attachment location creates a loop between the portion of the belt and the portion of the strap. The loop may receive a linking device attached to a lead of an animal such that the user of the apparatus may control the animal in a hands-free manner while allowing the animal a degree of freedom as a result of the linking device sliding along the strap between the first and second attachment locations of the loop.

  • Patent number: 10667530
Abstract: An automated process assesses an amount of meat remaining on a trimmed animal carcass by generating image data of the carcass and processing the image data in a computer to calculate the amount of meat remaining on the carcass. The automated process can be carried out using an equation developed by counting pixels in an area of interest in images of a plurality of reference trimmed carcasses from which the remaining meat is thereafter scraped and weighed, to produce data points used to develop the equation which is then used to calculate the amount of meat remaining on a trimmed carcass as it proceeds down a processing line.

  • Patent number: 10672532
Abstract: A system and method for enhanced magnet wire insulation is described. The method comprises a sequence of operations to create an enhanced magnet wire insulation suitable for use in temperatures of about 550° Fahrenheit. A magnet copper wire is wrapped with a polyimide wrap and subsequently wrapped with an organic polymer thermoplastic (e.g., PEEK). The polyimide wrap is applied while the magnet copper wire is around a spool to create a wrapped magnet wire. The wrapped magnet wire can be heated using an induction coil in a metal tube bolted to an extruder to remove moisture and to enable adding the layer of organic polymer thermoplastic. The metal tube can be held at a partial vacuum to augment moisture removal of the wrapped magnet wire prior to running the wrapped magnet wire through the extruder which adds the organic polymer thermoplastic layer. This method produces an enhanced magnet wire suitable for a wide range of temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20200114764
Abstract: A system and method of powering an external device with a vehicular battery system allows a user to charge electrically-powered devices with the electrical power source of his or her vehicle. The system includes an electrically-driven vehicle which includes a high-voltage battery. The high voltage battery includes a pair of contactors and is contained within a battery casing. The system further includes a junction box which includes an input derived from the pair of contactors, an external output for off-vehicle charging, and an internal output for on-vehicle charging. The system further includes a power modifier, an auxiliary low-voltage battery and at least one external device. The auxiliary low-voltage battery is electrically connected to the high-voltage battery through the junction box and the power modifier. Thus, the auxiliary low-voltage battery is safely charged by the high-voltage battery. The auxiliary low-voltage battery can then be used to power the external device.
