  • Publication number: 20230185727
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for dynamic logical page sizes for memory devices are described. A memory device may use an initial set of logical pages each having a same size and one or more logical-to-physical (L2P) tables to map logical addresses of the logical pages to the physical addresses of corresponding physical pages. As commands are received from a host device, the memory device may dynamically split a logical page to introduce smaller logic pages if the host device accesses data in chunk sizes smaller than the size of the logical page that is split. The memory device may maintain one or more additional L2P tables for each smaller logical page size that is introduced, along with one or more pointer tables to map between L2P tables and entries for larger logical page sizes and L2P tables and entries associated with smaller logical page sizes.

  • Patent number: 11671375
Abstract: Disclosed is a system comprised of different points-of-presence (“PoPs”) that provide software defined hybrid private and public networking for different entity sites. A system PoP may establish and/or maintain different network circuits for accessing different destinations or services. The system PoP may receive a tunnel creation request from a particular site, may obtain entity-defined policies that are specified for the particular site, and may establish a particular network tunnel to the particular site. The system PoP may then route egress traffic with a first classification through a first network circuit with a different quality of service (“QoS”) than egress traffic with a second classification according to the policies. Similarly, the system PoP may route ingress traffic arriving over the first network circuit through the particular network tunnel with a different QoS than ingress traffic arriving over the second network circuit according to the policies.

  • Publication number: 20230146164
Abstract: According to some aspects, techniques are described for designing non-insulated (NI) high temperature superconductor (HTS) magnets that mitigate problems that may arise during quench initiation and propagation. Coupling the HTS material to a co-conductor along its length reduces the effective resistance of the conductive path along the HTS material when it is not superconducting, and that this leads to numerous advantages for quench mitigation.

  • Publication number: 20230147027
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for write buffer extensions for storage interface controllers are described. Apparatuses and methods are presented in which a buffer may be used to temporarily store data from an application if the memory device is in an INACTIVE power mode. This may allow the memory device to remain asleep. The buffer may be positioned on the host device so that the power mode of the memory device may not affect it. That way, data may be stored in the buffer without waking up the memory device. If the memory device is in an ACTIVE power mode, the data that has been temporarily stored in the buffer may be sent to the memory device for storage. During read operations, if the requested data is stored in the buffer, it may be used instead of data in the memory device.

  • Publication number: 20230097465
Abstract: Structures and methods enable emergency or rapid shutdown of an energized no-insulation (NI) superconducting magnet, without damage due to thermal effects of a quench. A resistive bypass wire is coupled between electrical terminals of the magnet coil, and does not pass significant current during normal magnet operation. When rapid shutdown is required, the bypass wire is cooled below its critical temperature, adding a superconducting current path in parallel with the magnet coil. A portion of the coil is then heated above its critical temperature, interrupting current flow through the coil. Hot spots near the coil leads are mitigated through the use of a conductive structure, such as copper cladding, that carries away excess heat due to the quench. This heat may be deposited in a resistive matrix, such as a steel plate, over a duration of seconds and without compromising other magnet design parameters.
