  • Publication number: 20020073400
Abstract: A method for monitoring the execution of a program executable on at least one microprocessor of a micro controller using a debug logic of the micro controller, with an exception, particularly an interrupt of the program execution, being triggered by the debug logic upon access to a specific address range during the program execution time. In order to provide monitoring of the execution of a program, executable on a microprocessor, for faults, which is particularly reliable yet conserves resources as much as possible, it is suggested that the debug logic be configured by the microprocessor and that an exception routine be executed by the debug logic after an exception has been triggered during the program execution time. The debug logic is advantageously configured during the startup of the micro controller. Preferably, the micro controller is reset and started up again and the monitored program is initialized during the execution of the exception routine.

  • Patent number: 6382144
Abstract: A cooling device for an internal combustion engine is installed in a motor vehicle, especially in a passenger car. The cooling device has several radiators, which are disposed in a front section of the passenger car and connected over pipelines with the internal combustion engine. For reasons of space and to improve the effect, the cooling device in the front section, comprises a radiator, which extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and two lateral radiators, which extend obliquely to a longitudinal central plane. Through the agency of a collecting device with cooling water outlet pipelines, the radiators are connected to a common supplying pipeline, which is connected with the internal combustion engine. Moreover, downstream from the internal combustion engine, there is a returning pipeline, which is connected with a branching device, from which the cooling water-returning pipelines lead to the radiators.

  • Patent number: 6384902
Abstract: To determine the height of a surveying apparatus (1) above a point (15) on the ground, the surveying apparatus (1) has a distance measuring device and is provided with a front attachment (11) which is mounted on the telescope (8) and effects beam deflection and simultaneous beam divergence of an emitted infrared or laser beam towards the point (15) on the ground. The light beam is deflected around the surveying apparatus (1) and a stand (2) carrying the apparatus. Exact sighting of the point (15) on the ground is no longer necessary. The height is calculated as a function of the distance between the point on the ground and the rotary position of the telescope (8), which distance is in any case relatively accurately measurable in the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20010009368
Abstract: A nondestructive method for determining the thickness of a metallic protective layer (2) on a metallic base material (1), characterized in that the thickness of the metallic protective layer (2) is determined by detection of a different type of layer (3) which is situated between the metallic protective layer (2) and the metallic base material (1), by ultrasound, eddy-current or (pulsed) thermography. Consideration may be given to a nonmetallic layer (3) of oxides or carbides, a metallic layer (3) of pure nickel or a layer (3) with depleted Al and Ti content in that region of the base material which is close to the surface. This method can be used for turbine blades which are provided with MCrAlY in order to determine the layer thickness, for example during the test phase of coating, and to avoid the known destruction of the turbine blade, which is labor- and cost-intensive.

  • Patent number: 5369491
Abstract: A method for measuring the reciprocal displacement of the layers of a multilayer arrangement provided with conductors in described. The knowledge of the displacement makes it possible to in each case fix a suitable position for the holes through the multilayer arrangement to be subsequently produced and which are used for the electrical connection of the conductor planes. For this purpose, in a clearly defined position, each layer carries an optically recognizable pattern, said patterns at least partly being superimposed in the multilayer arrangement. In the multilayer arrangement at least one inspection hole is produced, which intersects the pattern of each layer. The cutting edges of each pattern are optically detected in the inspection hole and the position thereof is used for determining the reciprocal displacement of the layers.
