  • Publication number: 20010023802
Abstract: A torque converter includes a turbine impeller integrally connected to a pump impeller, a side-cover having a boss and covering the turbine impeller, and a turbine shaft extending through the boss and connected to the turbine impeller. A radial bearing and a one-way clutch are disposed axially adjacent to each other between the boss of the side-cover and the turbine shaft. The radial bearing serves to retain the boss and the turbine shaft concentrically, and the one-way clutch connects the turbine shaft and the side-cover to each other, when a back load is applied to the turbine shaft. Therefore, a load received by a clutch element of the one-way clutch such as a sprig between the turbine shaft and the side-cover is equalized. Thus, when a back load is applied to the turbine shaft, a slipping between the turbine impeller and the pump impeller is prevented, thereby providing a good engine brake effect.

  • Publication number: 20010006576
Abstract: To eliminate unnaturalness in the display of video signals that are intermittently updated. Video signals recorded in a disk 1 in a compressed manner are reproduced through a pickup 2. The reproduced signals are fed to a reproduction processing unit 3 from where a bit stream is fetched which is then fed to a decoder circuit 4. The decoder circuit 4 produces video signals reconstructed from the compression. The signals from the decoder circuit 4 are fed to an adder 12 which is an adder means through an amplifier 11 which is a weighting circuit having a coefficient of, for example, 0.5. The added signal from the adder 12 is fetched to an output terminal 13, and is fed to a frame memory 14 which is a storage means of, for example, one frame. The signal stored in the frame memory 14 is fed to an adder 12 through an amplifier 15 which is a second weighting circuit having a coefficient of, for example, 0.5.

  • Patent number: 6256717
Abstract: A data access controller has its SRAM adapted to hold two ECC blocks so that the SRAM is used efficiently for multiple kinds of processes. At playback of data, writing of ECC block A from the demodulator and the ECC process for ECC block B begin simultaneously. When the ECC process ends, release of the ECC block B to the outside begins. When the writing of the ECC block A ends, the ECC process for the ECC block A begins and, at the same time, writing of ECC block B from the demodulator begins.

  • Patent number: 6216256
Abstract: The layout of a semiconductor IC is determined making use of a first logical cell of an ordinary flip-flop based on a logical net. Logical simulation is performed according to the result of the layout, that is, the layout information. The possibility of erroneous operation caused by timing deviations is verified by comparing the timing information from the result of the logical simulation with the design specifications. Furthermore, the logical cells at points where there is the possibility of erroneous operation caused by timing deviations are replaced by second or third logical cells having delay elements connected to data input or output terminals of the flip-flops. The final layout of the semiconductor IC is then decided.

  • Patent number: 6130865
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for moving an optical head to a desired track on a disk shaped recording medium having a pair of spiral tracks. A common address is recorded on the pair of spiral tracks. The addresses of the tracks before and after the access process are compared. • Patent number: 5999030
Abstract: A clock control circuit is provided in a flip-flop circuit, since a first clock signal supplied to a master latch circuit is generated by an OR logic between a reference clock signal and a skew adjustment clock signal, a second clock signal supplied to a slave latch circuit is generated in accordance with the reference clock signal, the first clock signal has a phase advanced from the second clock signal by exactly an amount of a skew margin. An input signal is fetched into the flip-flop circuit at the rising edge of the first clock signal, then is output at the rising edge of the second clock signal. By this, malfunction due to the clock skew is prevented. The flip-flop circuit can operate as in the normal mode by holding the skew adjustment clock at a logic "0".

  • Patent number: 5966175
Abstract: A back light detecting method, a back light detecting device and an image pick-up camera for detecting a back light state in view of the pick-up state of a subject. Concerning a pixel other than the pixel within the brightness level between two slice levels given from the outside, its brightness level is integrated to distinguish a subject area AR.sub.M from a background area AR.sub.L. A back light state BLS is estimated from the area HIST.sub.M and the brightness level Y.sub.M of the subject area AR.sub.M. Thereby the back light state can be detected more correctly.

  • Patent number: 5856050
Abstract: A photosensitive sheet favorably employable for covering a pixel sheet is composed mainly of a support and a photosensitive colored resin layer containing a dye whose color disappears by application of heat or light. The coverage of the pixel sheet can be performed by combining the pixel sheet and the photosensitive sheet which has been examined for checking evenness of the surface of the colored resin layer under the condition that the pixels are brought into contact with the colored resin layer to give a combined body; separating the support of the photosensitive sheet from the combined body, leaving the colored resin layer on the pixel sheet; exposing to light the photosensitive colored resin layer on the pixel sheet so as to cure the photosensitive colored resin layer and possibly to make the resin layer colorless; and heating the light-exposed colored resin layer so that the colored resin layer is made colorless or the curing further proceeds.
