Patent number: 4901486Abstract: An elasto-plastic damper is adapted to be used in a structure, such as a building and other facilities, for absorbing vibration energy created by earthquake tremors and other ground vibrations. The damper is a centrally bulged and generally cone-shaped hollow body of revolution so that its section modulus changes substantially proportional to a bending moment created in the damper body due to horizontal stresses, thus permitting a maximum degree of deformability. This elasto-plastic damper is compact in size and demonstrates a high degree of vibrational energy absorbability.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1987Date of Patent: February 20, 1990Assignee: Kajima CorporationInventors: Takuju Kobori, Shunichi Yamada, Shigeru Ban, Koji Ishii, Isao Nishimura, Masatoshi Ishida, Kuniaki Sato, Yasuo Takenaka, Shozo Maeda, Jun Tagami

Patent number: 4879950Abstract: A mechanism for adjusting an image position on a printing cylinder in a rotary press adjusts the position by sliding or moving the printing cylinder transversely relative to a rubber cylinder. The mechanism includes a transverse adjusting mechanism and a vertical adjusting mechanism which each have bevel gears. A handle is fixed to a central shaft of the printing cylinder at one side of the cylinder and outside the housing of the rotary press, so that an operator can adjust the image position without having to go to a second side of the machine frame. In the image adjusting operation, the printing cylinder slides along its axis to adjust the transverse position of the image and the printing cylinder gear slides along its axis to control the vertical position of the image.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1988Date of Patent: November 14, 1989Assignee: Ryobi Ltd.Inventor: Koji Ishii

Patent number: 4860651Abstract: In a multi-color printing machine, a skew or slant of a picture to be printed is corrected by cocking, namely, swinging a paper-feed cylinder relative to a base impression cylinder by a unique but simple cocking mechanisms. The cocking mechanism includes a shaft holder which holds one end portion of the shaft of the paper-feed cylinder and which is pivotable about an eccentric position disposed on an imaginary line extending between central axes of the paper-feed cylinder and the base impression cylinder. The shaft holder is connected at another end thereof to an operating shaft via screw means which converts rotation of the operating shaft into the pivotal movement of the shaft holder.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1988Date of Patent: August 29, 1989Assignee: Ryobi Ltd.Inventors: Koji Ishii, Yukito Okuda

Patent number: 4779912Abstract: A locking lever of a door latch can be operated either manually by operating a lock knob or electrically by applying a current to an electrically operating mechanism. The turning force of the mechanism is transmitted to the lever via a first oscillatory member and second one cooperative loosely with the first member. The second member operates to shift the lever to a lock or an unlock position after it has been turned by the first member by a prescribed angle. The first member energizes a return spring, the biasing force of which returns the first member to neutral position when the current to the mechanism is interrupted. The lock knob can be operated lightly since the mechanism with the first member at the neutral position does not obstructs the knob.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1988Date of Patent: October 25, 1988Assignee: Kabushikikaisha AnseikogyoInventors: Ichio Ikeda, Koji Ishii
