  • Publication number: 20040019798
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for ensuring that only randomly generated numbers that have passed a test is used for cryptographic purposes are provided. When a random number is generated, it undergoes a built-in self-test (BIST). If the number passes the test, it is forwarded to a cryptographic device to be used for cryptographic purposes. If the number does not pass the test, a signal is instead forwarded to the cryptographic device to indicate the failure of the test. In a particular embodiment, only one data line is used to forward either the randomly generated number or the signal. A selector is used to facilitate the selection between the number and the signal.

  • Patent number: 6640497
Abstract: A door glass raising and falling apparatus has a carrier plate 71 mounted onto a door glass 70. The door glass 70 is movable along sashes 41, 42 disposed on a door. The carrier plate 71 includes securing portions that are fixed to moving portions 67a, 67b of a wire-rope body 67. The carrier plate 71 also has a glass support portion 74 for supporting the door glass 70, and a pair of front and rear glass fixing portions 77, 78 each including a screw member 75. The door glass 70 has mounting holes supported by the glass fixing portions 77, 78, respectively. The dimension of the mounting holes is larger than the outside diameter of the shaft portion of each of the screw members 75 so that the door glass 70 is moveable with respect to the carrier plate 71. Also, a wire-rope body 150 extends over a plurality of pulleys. Some of the pulleys 142, 143 are rotatably mounted on frame members 136, 137 by pulley shafts 182 respectively.

  • Publication number: 20030156347
Abstract: A magnetic disk drive system having a write head Hw and a read head Hr which can move over a magnetic disk in a radial direction of the disk and are arranged at a distance from each other. At a predetermined write start timing tWG, it writes measurement information by the write head in a specific sector at a first timing tW, then reads the information by the read head, detects predetermined positional information included in the information, and produces a second timing tDA. The system subtracts the interval between the second timing and the start timing from the interval between the first timing and second timing to measure the write/read head distance time difference in the track direction of the magnetic head unit. The write/read head distance information is used for correction and control of the operation of the magnetic head unit.

  • Publication number: 20030123752
Abstract: An in-vehicle image correcting device for correcting an image picked up by a near-infrared camera ahead of one's own vehicle in which an obstacle is difficult for a driver to visually recognize captures the image picked up by the near-infrared camera; and corrects the image captured by the image capturing means so that a density of a pixel having a higher density than an obstacle density representative of the density of a pixel corresponding to the obstacle becomes lower than the obstacle density. In this configuration, the image picked up by the, near-infrared camera is corrected so that the obstacle can be easily recognized.

  • Patent number: 6587130
Abstract: In a multi-function switch, while a first level screen inclusive of images representative of a plurality of object appliances viewed at operation buttons is displayed on a display means, an image of a selected appliance is selected by pressing any one of the operation buttons. Next, a second level screen inclusive of a plurality of functions of the selected appliance is displayed on the display means. In this configuration, not only the number of the operation buttons but also the space required for displaying the selected appliance can be reduced. When an air conditioner mode is selected from the first level screen, by pressing one by one a operation button for air drafting, in accordance with the number of times of pressing, the symbol representative of drafting mode is changed in a sequence of six patterns of “no drafting”, “only head”, “both head and leg”, “only leg” “only leg with defogger” and “head and leg with defogger”.

  • Publication number: 20030095213
Abstract: There is provided a single panel type video display capable of increasing the luminance of image. A color separator separates light from a light source into light beams in three colors in a band shape to emit the light beams and introduces the band-shaped light beams in the three colors so as to be overlapped with one another in a predetermined region. A lens array wheel has a plurality of functional units each composed of a convex lens of a size corresponding to the predetermined region, circularly passes the plurality of functional units each composed of the convex lens through the predetermined region, and scrolls the band-shaped light beams in the three colors in a state where they are divided among regions on a single liquid crystal display panel. A video signal is fed to the liquid crystal display panel in synchronization with the movement of the plurality of functional units each composed of the convex lens.

  • Publication number: 20030074510
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing signal pins on an interface between a system controller and peripheral integrated circuits reduces the number of signal pins required on a system controller integrated circuit. Signals of differing types are qualified by an internal peripheral select signal from which chip select signals for a plurality of externally interfaced peripheral integrated circuits are generated. The interface functions so that a single signal pin may be used for carrying different signal types between the system controller and each of the peripheral integrated circuits. The use of the internal peripheral select signal ensures that the setup times for the selection circuitry and pin drivers are met before a chip select signal enables communication with a selected peripheral and that a hold time is maintained for signals on shared interface pins so that the peripheral integrated circuits receive valid inputs from shared pins.

  • Publication number: 20020064635
Abstract: A molded product which is free of flash resulting from application of a coating agent or the like, parting surface covering masks for preventing the flash, and producing methods of these. The mask is mounted to each of a lower mold and an upper mold, so as to cover parting surfaces which are at inner side than a rim molding portion and cover their vicinities. Adjusting portions are attached to a mask body of the mask, and are capable of correspondingly getting tight contact with the parting surfaces. Accordingly, even when the coating agent is applied to the each mold by using a spray gun or the like in this state, the coating agent is not applied to the parting surfaces and their vicinities.

  • Publication number: 20020032705
Abstract: A method for placing an insertion point in an electronic document in an electronic system for creating and editing an electronic document. Context information regarding a location of a cursor in the electronic document is collected. A coinciding rule is selected from one of a number of rules based on the collected context information. In response to selecting a coinciding rule, the cursor is changed to indicate an anticipated location of the insertion point and the associated formatting rules to be applied. A determination is made whether an indication has been received to place the insertion point in the electronic document, and, if so, then formatting is performed to place the insertion point in the electronic document.

  • Patent number: 6344801
Abstract: The names of a plurality of instruments connected to a bus are displayed on a screen. An operator presses a mode selection switch, so that one of the names of the plurality of electrical instruments displayed on the screen of the monitor can be selected. A controller selectively displays the name on the screen selected by the mode selection switch. The operator can operate the instrument corresponding to the name on the screen selected by the mode selection switch with using a direction key.

  • Publication number: 20010043291
Abstract: The task of the present invention is to provide a highly reliable screen input type display device using a touch panel which can facilitate the control of a gap formed between upper and lower substrates and can stabilize the linearity of the resistance value detection of a resistance film whereby an erroneous operation of the coordinates detection can be eliminated. To solve such a task, a tape-like conductive pressure sensitive adhesive member which is formed by sandwiching a metal foil with conductive pressure sensitive adhesive material is used at a connection portion between an upper wiring electrode mounted on an upper resistance film formed on an upper substrate and an inter-substrate connection wiring electrode formed on a lower substrate.

  • Patent number: 6078454
Abstract: When a combination head is on-tracked to an arbitrary cylinder position, a head position controller corrects a head position so as to eliminate an offset amount derived from an offset table. A bias current setting circuit obtains a current set value corresponding to an offset correction amount from a bias current table and supplies the bias current according to the current set value to an MR head. As kinds of offsets, there are a yaw angle offset, a thermal offset, and a core deviation offset.
