Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving mobility information to support the handover and roaming in a digital broadcasting system. The transmission method includes the steps of setting mobility information including information elements for indicating at least one handover/roaming type according to whether or not support of an interactive network is available for handover/roaming; inserting the mobility information into at least one of an ESG regarding broadcasting services, a notification message, and an independent signaling message so that the mobility information is transmitted to at least one terminal; and conducting handover or roaming of the terminal according to the mobility information.

Abstract: A communication system supporting an HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) service. In order to transmit common information to at least two UEs (User Equipments) among a plurality of UEs supporting the HSDPA service, the system transmits control information including common ID information indicating the common information over a shared control channel (SHCCH), upon generation of the common information. The system transmits the common information over the SHCCH in a TTI (Transmission Time Interval) equal to or after a TTI where the control information is transmitted, so that the UEs can support the HSDPA service using the common information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sending a broadcast service in a digital broadcasting system. The method includes assigning a same Internet Protocol (IP) address for a common broadcast service when the common broadcast service is provided in at least two IP platforms, each of the at least two IP platforms providing a broadcast service to a terminal; delivering the common broadcast service using the same IP address; and delivering related information relevant to the common broadcast service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for configuring a TFCS in a mobile communication system are provided. TrCH configuration information and TFCS configuration information are received in a TrCH establishment message from an RNC. A CTFC set including all possible combinations of TFs of different transport channels is calculated according to the TrCH configuration information. A determination is made as to whether the TFCS configuration information includes a TFC-CTFC auto mapping indicator. If the TFCS configuration information includes the TFC-CTFC auto mapping indicator, CTFCs included in the CTFC set are mapped to TFCs in a one-to-one correspondence.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating and displaying a media file. A computer-readable recording medium is disclosed for storing stereoscopic content having two or more tracks and stereoscopic video-related information of each track in the stereoscopic content. The medium includes a duplication indication field indicating duplication of stereoscopic video-related information of each track in the stereoscopic content, and a track reference field including information used to connect a current track to at least one other track to which the current rack refers.

Abstract: A paging method for informing a UE of the existence or absence of control information in transmission of the control information according to the support of an MBMS in a mobile communication system. In the method, paging according to a voice and packet service and paging according to an MBMS are differentiated from each other. Accordingly, a first paging indication channel for identifying the paging according to the voice and packet service and a second paging indication channel for identifying the paging according to the MBMS are differentiated from each other and used.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for updating firmware of terminals in a mobile broadcast system including a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation fragment (BSDA) and a Broadcast service Subscription Management (BSM). The method includes requesting creation of a content fragment, by the BSM, by transmitting a firmware package file for a firmware update of the terminals to the BSDA; creating a content fragment including the firmware package file and broadcasting the created content fragment to the terminals by the BSDA; detecting the firmware package file from the received content fragment; and performing the firmware update using the firmware package file.

Abstract: A user interface method and apparatus for a Rich Media service in a terminal. A decoder decodes a received stream to check a header of the received stream. A renderer adaptively composes a scene using scene composition elements of the received stream, according to adaptation information in the header checked by the decoder, and a display displays the adaptively composed scene.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a broadcast service in a communication system is provided. The method includes creating a seed key pair including a first key and a second key, transmitting the seed key pair to a terminal to which the broadcast service is to be provided, creating a certain number of encryption keys using the seed key pair, the certain number corresponding to a lifetime of the seed key pair, encrypting broadcast service data for the lifetime using the encryption keys, and broadcasting the encrypted broadcast service data.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing tokens for Digital Rights Management (DRM) in a terminal are provided. In the method, at least one token is acquired from a Rights Issuer (RI), and the token is moved to a Secure Removable Media (SRM) through a token move request message. The token can be shared by several terminals.

Abstract: A method and mobile communication system for providing a user defined bundle in a terminal of a mobile broadcast system are provided. The method includes receiving a service guide from a BroadCAST (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSDA), creating a user defined bundle based on a content or a service desired by a user, including the user defined bundle in a user defined bundle subscription request message and transmitting the user defined bundle subscription request message to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM), and receiving from the BSM a user defined bundle subscription response message in which a user defined bundle subscription and a purchase complete message is included.

Abstract: A method of providing discovery information of an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap entry point is provided. The method includes listing at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal, creating a Management Object (MO), which connects the ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information and transmitting the created MO to the terminal through an interactive channel.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a notification message in a Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) system are provided, in which a terminal detects an Access Point (AP) from an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrapping session, queries the AP to request a notification message list or all or part of a notification message over a communication channel, and receives the notification message list or all or part of the notification message from the AP.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting mobility in a mobile broadcasting system in which Electronic Service Guide (ESG) discovery is required. The mobility support is classified into three ways according to three different aspects. The first way is to provide roaming information for a local IPDC operator having a roaming partner among local IPDC operators. In the second way, a terminal transmits a query message for requesting transmission of information on a particular local IPDC operator, and receives information on the particular local IPDC operator in response thereto. The third way is to provide the terminal with type information of an ESG; an access type of which is classified according to provision of a roaming service. The roaming information, the information on the particular local IPDC operator and the type information of the ESG, which are provided to the terminal from the mobile broadcasting system, can be provided in an ESG bootstrap level.

Abstract: A method for managing information on user equipments (UEs) in a mobile communication system supporting an MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) service. A radio network controller (RNC) provides a packet switched (PS) service and a circuit switched (CS) service to the UEs. A UE that is in a Packet Mobility Management-Idle (PMM-Idle) mode after joining at least one MBMS service, transmits MBMS service-related information thereof to the RNC, and the RNC stores the MBMS service-related information in a first service context for the MBMS service held in the RNC, together with information on the UE.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for allocating identifiers (IDs) which differentiate data to be transmitted in a mobile communication system supporting the transmission of packet data. The method is used for allocating identifiers to packet data by a radio network controller (RNC) so as to differentiate packet data in a mobile communication system which includes the RNC and a user equipment (UE), wherein the RNC transmits the packet data to a certain cell through at least two common channels including at least two transport channels and the UE receives the packet data through the transport channel. The method includes the steps of: determining a transport channel for transmitting received packet data; and allocating dedicated identifiers for differentiating the pack data according to the determined transport channels.

Abstract: A method for supporting backward compatibility of Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service (hereinafter referred to as MBMS) in a mobile communication system of Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (hereinafter referred to as WCDMA) is disclosed. An example method recites mapping relationship between the MBMS service identifier and the RAB identifier and judging the capability of the RNC by the SGSN, and accordingly, determining if the MBMS service is backwards compatible and if user equipment is compatible with different versions.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for transferring preferred frequency information in a mobile communication system which establishes a preferred frequency layer and a non-preferred frequency layer for a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service. The method involves the steps of determining at least one preferred frequency of the MBMS service when a session of the MBMS service starts, generating the preferred frequency information representing said at least one preferred frequency, and transmitting the preferred frequency information to at least one serving radio network controller for managing communication of user equipments intended to receive the MBMS service.
