  • Patent number: 9176829
Abstract: Techniques involving replication of virtual machines of virtual machines in a clustered environment are described. One representative technique includes receiving a replication request to replicate a primary virtual machine. A clustering broker is configured to act on the replication request on behalf of a cluster of recovery nodes, by at least placing a replicated virtual machine corresponding to the source virtual machine on a recovery node and facilitate tracking the migration of the replicated virtual machine within the cluster. The clustering broker returns an address of the recovery node that has been placed or found through tracking for the particular virtual machine.

  • Publication number: 20130198739
Abstract: Techniques for validating business continuity preparedness of a virtual machine are described herein. The techniques may include executing a workload on a virtual machine and replicating the workload to another virtual machine. The replication may include generating one or more logs indicating changes that have occurred on the virtual machine and sending the one or more logs to the other virtual machine. Upon initiation of a failover, the workload may stop execution on the virtual machine and a log may be sent to the other virtual machine. The log may indicate changes occurring on the virtual machine to a point in time when execution of the workload stopped. The log may be stored to the other virtual machine. The workload may continue execution on the other virtual machine and may be replicated to the virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 8362086
Abstract: The application relates to long acting injectable (LAI) formulations for combating ectoparasites and endoparasites in mammals. In particular, this invention provides for a LAI formulation comprising a subcutaneously volatile solvent, a biologically acceptable polymer, a bioactive agents and optionally one or more anti-ectoparasitically or anti-endoparasitically acceptable additive or excipient. Surprisingly, the liquid long acting injectable formulations of the invention solve the problems associates with previous injectable formulations by having long term stability, being able to accommodate smaller needle diameters and achieving long acting effects in the control of pests in a mammal. The unique formulations of the invention also allow for combating ectoparasites and endoparasites which have become resistant to macrolide antibiotics.

  • Publication number: 20090185537
Abstract: When a mobile node suffers an abrupt shut down while operating in a foreign network and recovers in its home network, the present invention enables the mobile node to reestablish communication capability, without time delay, with the nodes that had established one or more communication sessions with the mobile node prior to the abrupt shut down. The mobile node of the present invention includes an update module that determines whether additional information needs to be sent to the nodes in communication with the mobile node prior to the mobile node suffering an abrupt shut down. Based on that determination, the update module may provide additional information to such nodes.
