Abstract: An auxiliary input device for menu control on a portable computing device is provided. The auxiliary input device includes a lighting unit, an optical lens, and an optical sensor. The lighting unit is for projecting light to a surface upon which the portable computing device is moved upon. The optical lens is for receiving reflected light from the surface and focusing the reflected light on the optical sensor. The optical sensor is for periodically capturing images of the reflected light and transmitting information of the images captured to the portable computing device. The images captured map a movement of the portable computing device. Accordingly, the portable computing device scrolls through a menu displayed thereon according to the images captured. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A touch sensing apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a flip-flop (15), a sensor (13), an AC signal (14), and a detector (16). The AC signal supplies AC signals to the flip-flop. The flip-flop outputs a first output signal at the output of flip-flop when the sensor is not touched. The sensor receives electricity signals from the object, and causes a delay of the AC signal inputted to the first input of the flip-flop, the delay of the AC signal to be inputted to the first input of the flip-flop further causes the flip-flop to output a second output signal at the output of the flip-flop. The detector detects a change from the first output signal to the second output signal at the output of the flip-flop and accordingly identifies a touch on the sensor.

Abstract: A method of an electronic apparatus with quick response time capable of switching between an original image mode and a thumbnail image mode is provided. The method includes: providing a plurality of original images and a plurality of thumbnail images associated with the original images; receiving an instruction from a user input; determining whether the instruction is a thumbnail image input; switching the electronic apparatus to the thumbnail image mode if the user input is a thumbnail image input and the electronic apparatus is in the original image mode; and displaying the thumbnail image associated with the currently displayed original image. A related electronic apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: A method for obtaining technical information of IC is disclosed. The method provides an IC, a computer, and a network terminal. The network terminal stores technical information of the IC. The IC includes a memory. The memory stores link information for obtaining the technical information. Connects the IC to the computer. The computer reads the link information from the memory of IC, and obtains the technical information from the network terminal according to the link information. Using this method, engineers can find the technical information of the IC conveniently and correctly.

Abstract: A touch sensing apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a sensor (13), a flip-flop (16), and a microcontroller unit (17). The sensor is connected to one of input of the flip-flop for receiving electricity signals from an object that touches the sensor. The MCU respectively supplies two AC signals at two outputs thereof to two inputs of the flip-flop. The flip-flop outputs a first type output signal at the output thereof when the sensor not being touched. When being touched, the sensor receives electricity signals from an object, and causes a delay of an AC signal to be inputted to the input of the flip-flop to which the sensor is connected, the delay of the AC signal to be inputted to the input of the flip-flop further causes the flip-flop to output a second type output signal at a output thereof. The MCU detects a change of the output signals of the flip-flop from the first type output signal to the second type output signal and accordingly identifies a touch on the sensor.

Abstract: An energy saving system used in an electronic device is provided. The energy saving system includes a battery for supplying the electronic device with energy; a energy detector for measuring a energy level of the battery, and transmitting a battery energy saving control signal when the measured energy level is equal to or less than a predetermined energy level; and a control unit for changing a predetermined first time period into a predetermined second time period which is shorter than the predetermined first time period according to the battery energy saving control signal, and controlling the electronic device to enter a sleep mode state when an elapsed time of not receiving any operations on the electronic device reaches the predetermined second time period.

Abstract: A digital photo frame capable of adjusting images is provided. The digital photo frame includes a user input unit, a memory, a display, a processor. The memory is configured for storing images, original image property settings, and a predetermined algorithm, the predetermined algorithm records a rule to retrieve other settings based on an original property setting. The processor includes a reading module and a display module. The reading module is configured for obtaining images and settings of each image property from the memory. The display module is configured to retrieves other property settings according to the original property setting and the predetermined algorithm, display several instances of the same image at different retrieved settings simultaneously, and further select one of the settings as the desirable setting in response to the user input operation.

The GPS device includes a storage unit, the storage unit configured to store map data and speed limit information of each speed limit section. Each speed limit information includes a speed limit start position, a speed limit end position, and a first predetermined speed value, the method includes steps of: receiving GPS satellite navigation signals in real time; detecting current location of a vehicle and determine whether the vehicle is in a speed limit section; detecting current speed value of the vehicle when the vehicle is in a speed limit section; generating and sending a control signal to control a safety protection unit to perform a safety protection operation, when the current speed value is greater than the first predetermined speed value in the speed limit section.

Abstract: A method with quick response time applied to the electronic apparatus is provided. The method includes: providing a storage configured for storing a plurality of images; providing a cache memory configured for temporarily storing decoded images; invoking the images that are previously to and next to the currently displayed image from the storage, decoding the invoked images, and storing the decoded images in the cache memory; receiving an instruction from user input; determining whether the instruction is for displaying a previous image or a next image; and invoking the decoded image of the image from the cache memory and displaying the selected image. Abstract: A display device includes a detachable housing, a main body, and an interface unit. The interface unit electrically connects the detachable housing with the main body. The detachable housing includes an OSD unit for storing a plurality of OSD data; a command input unit for generating and sending signals in response to operations of a user; a processing unit for identifying operations of the user, and, if required by the operations, performing predetermined function to obtain OSD data, generating a corresponding control signal, and transmitting the OSD data and the control signal to the main body through the interface unit. The main body displays an OSD menu corresponding to the OSD data and adjusts the parameters of the display device, corresponding to the control signals.

Abstract: A method of a digital photo frame (DPF) with mode switching function is provided. The method includes: determining whether the DPF is in a DPF mode or a TV mode upon receiving a power off signal; detecting whether any multimedia file exists in the DPF if the DPF is in the TV mode; and switching the DPF from the TV mode to the DPF mode if any multimedia file exists in the storage. The GPS device includes a communications unit configured to transmit communication data between the GPS device and at least one external controlled device, at least one motion sensing unit, the method includes steps of: detecting current motion state of a vehicle, and obtaining sensing information; generating a first control signal to an external controlled device, when determining the vehicle is in a defined particular motion state; transmitting the first control signal to turn on the controlled device through the communications unit; generating a second control signal to the controlled device, when determining the vehicle isn't the particular motion state; transmitting the second control signal to turn off the controlled device through the communications unit.

Abstract: A method for outputting multimedia files and broadcast contents of a selected television (TV) channels on the DPF in a picture-in-picture (PIP) output mode is provided. The method includes: starting the PIP output mode when the DPF plays multimedia files under a DPF mode; defining a PIP region on the DPF; receiving broadcasts of a selected TV channel; and outputting the multimedia files and the broadcast contents of the selected TV channel in the PIP output mode. Abstract: A digital photo frame (DPF) includes a power source, a power management unit, a display panel, a backlight unit, a motion detector and a processing unit. The display panel includes a reflective structure. The power management unit is used to manage the power supply from the power source to the DPE The backlight unit connects with the display panel and the power management unit. The motion detector is used to produce a detection signal when detecting there is someone around the DPF within a relatively short range. The processing unit connects with the motion detector and the power management unit, when the processing unit receives the detection signal, the processing unit controls the power management unit to discontinue the power from the power source to the backlight unit, therefore display panel reflects images via the reflective structure.

Abstract: A method for showing page flip effect when use electronic device enjoy electronic document, the method provides a flip-page operation table, the flip-page operation table defines relationships between flip effect parameters and lengths of a first touch path or a second touch path. The method comprising: receiving touch signals, determining the touch path and lengths of the touch path according the touch signals; determining which page will be brought into view (hereinafter target page) according to the touch path; obtaining a flip effect parameter when the touch path increase to lengths defined in flip effect table; combining a combined page according to the current page, the next page and the flip effect parameter. Present invention also providing an electronic device capable of executing said steps.
