Abstract: A mobile communications device to provide feedback on spam text messages. A corresponding method is provided. The method includes steps of: receiving a message from a server; decoding the message; identifying whether the server ID of the received message is one of the predetermined numbers; displaying the menu on the display unit if the server ID is one of the predetermined numbers; receiving a reply code, generating a reply message corresponding to the reply code, and sending the reply message to the server.

Abstract: A method used in a digital photo frame (DPF) for automatically entering and switching operational mode is provided. In an exemplary embodiment, the method includes: obtaining TV program information from a TV program table under a DPF mode; determining whether a TV program is on or about to start at the current time; automatically entering a TV mode or switching from the DPF mode to the TV mode when a TV program is on or about to start; and automatically receiving and playing the TV program.

Abstract: A method for displaying images asynchronously is provided. The method includes: providing at least one display mode, the display mode defines a total display area count displayable showed on a display, an interval to display images on the display, and a predetermined displaying manner; obtaining images and the display mode; generating one or more display areas according to the display mode; and displaying the images on the generated display areas according to the interval and displaying manner.

Abstract: A mobile communications device capable of replying to advertising message (ad) quickly and a method thereof are provided. The method includes steps of: receiving an ad transmitted by a server; identifying whether the received ad is a message in a predetermined format; reading a decoding program from a storage unit to decode the received ad if the received ad is messages in the predetermined format; displaying a basic content part and a reply content part after the ad is decoded; receiving a user's reply, generating a reply message includes a reply code corresponding to the user's reply, and sending the reply message.

Abstract: The present invention provides a power saving mobile phone and a power saving method adapted for the mobile phone. The mobile phone includes a media playing controller for controlling media playing functions and a mobile communications controller for controlling mobile communications functions. The method includes: a) receiving an incoming call when playing an audio file; b) pausing playing the audio file; c) receiving an answer call instruction of the incoming call; d) measuring time; e) judging whether a hang-up instruction is received in a predetermined time period based on measured time; and f) stopping playing the audio file and decreases a voltage of the media playing controller to zero, if the hang-up instruction is not received in the predetermined time period.

Abstract: A shake responsive media player is provided. The media player comprises, a motion sensor, a storage unit, a motion state determining unit, a media file determining unit, and a processing unit. The motion sensor is used for detecting a shaking motion imparted to the media player by a user. The storage unit stores at least one group of media files associated with each other having same contents and different sampling rates and a table defining relationships between shaking levels of the shaking motion and the sampling rates of the at least one group of media files. The motion state determines one of the shaking levels of the media player according to signals from the motion sensing unit. The a media file determining unit, when a first media file of the at least one group of media files is playing, determines a second media file associated with the first media file having the sampling rate corresponding to the shaking level determined by the motion state determining unit according to the table.

Abstract: A digital photo frame (DPF) includes a power source, a display panel, a light detector, a motion detector, a processing unit, and a power management unit. The light detector is configured to detect the ambient brightness. The motion detection unit is configured to detect whether anyone is around. The processing unit is connected to the light detector and the motion detector. If the motion detector detects someone is around the DPF and the light detector detects the ambient brightness is below a predetermined value, the processing unit controls the power management unit to provide power to the display panel.

Abstract: A shake responsive media player is provided. The media player comprises a vibration switch that changes its state between an electrically open state and an electrically closed state during the media player is shaken. The media player also comprises a storage unit, a motion state determining unit, a media file determining unit, and a processing unit. The storage unit stores a plurality of media files and a table that defines relationships between shaking levels and the sampling rates of the at least one group of media files. The motion state determining unit determines a duration of the shaking of the media player and the times of state changing of the vibration switch according to signals from the vibration switch and determines a shaking level according to the duration of the shaking of the media player and the times of state changing of the vibration switch.

Abstract: A wireless transmission system is provided. The system includes a wireless transmission apparatus for sending radio signals in a selected frequency and a wireless reception apparatus for receiving the radio signals in the selected frequency and playing audio signals corresponding to the radio signals. The wireless transmission apparatus includes a scan unit for periodically scanning interference frequencies of candidate frequencies, and recording characteristics of each interference frequency; an evaluation value calculating module for calculating an evaluation value of each candidate frequency according to the characteristics of the corresponding interference frequencies; a frequency selection module for choosing one of the candidate frequencies as a current transmission frequency according to the evaluation values; and a transmission unit for sending radio signals in the current transmission frequency. A wireless transmission method is also provided.

Abstract: The invention provided a protective apparatus for accommodating a portable device and accessories of the portable device. The protective apparatus includes a holder for accommodating the portable device; a retractile member for allowing cable portions of the accessory to be coiled therearound; and a clasp or a receptacle for receiving bulky portions of the accessories. The protective apparatus is simple designed and convenient to wind the cable onto and unwind the cable from the protective apparatus.

Abstract: A file display system is provided. The file display system includes a MCU (10), a display control unit (20) and a display unit (30). The MCU receives power-on commands and power-off commands from a control unit (50). According to the preferred embodiment, upon receiving a power-off command, the MCU reads a next page data content of a currently displayed page from a storage apparatus (40) and stores the next page data content in the display control unit; and upon receiving a following power-on command, the MCU enables the display control unit, and the display control unit controls the next page data content stored therein to be displayed on the display unit, the next page data content therefore becomes a currently displayed page. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention provides a portable electronic device. The device includes a first controller, a second controller, a mode switch unit, and a main controller. The mode switch unit is for a user to operate thereby generating a mode switch instruction. The main controller is for switching a work mode according to the mode switch instruction from the mode switch unit. When the mode switch unit generates a first mode switch instruction, the device enters a common work mode whereby the main controller activates the first controller and the second controller to be on standby; and when the mode switch unit generates a second mode switch instruction, the device enters a single work mode whereby the main controller activates only one of the first controller and the second controller to be on standby.

Abstract: The present invention provides a charging control circuit for a rechargeable battery. The charging control circuit includes: a constant-current charging unit and a trickle charging unit. The charging control circuit further includes a branch switch, a detection switch, a control unit, and a detection unit. The branch switch is connected between a power source and the rechargeable battery for enabling or disabling the constant-current charging unit, the detection switch is turned on or off depending on the enable or disable state of the constant-current charging unit. The control unit is connected between the detection switch and the branch switch for controlling the branch switch to turn on or off depending on the off or on state of the detection switch.

Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the touch sensing apparatus includes one or more touch sensing units, a detector, and a signal processing unit. Each touch sensing unit comprises: a differential signal source for generating two signals which have a same frequency but reverse phases; and two sensors for receiving a touch signal of a user's finger. One sensor is connected to an anode of the differential signal source, and the other sensor is connected to a cathode of the differential signal source. The detector is for converting the received signal into a digital signal. An input terminal of the detector is connected to the sensors of each touch sensing unit. The signal processing unit is for determining which sensor is touched according to the frequency and phase of the signal output from the detector. The signal processing unit is connected to an output terminal of the detector. The touch sensing unit may further include a reference signal circuit.

Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting sound volume for an audio system includes a controller (101) connected to an amplifier (40) of the audio system, an audio processor (104), a circuit (102) for adjusting sound volume, and a communication port (103). The controller controls the amplification of the amplifier through the communication port. The circuit includes an adjustor (1022) connected to the audio processor, and a switch (1024) coupled to the audio processor. The controller controls the switch to switch an operating mode of the circuit between a normal mode and an attenuation mode. The adjustor is coupled to the switch. In the normal mode, the switch directly transmits unadjusted audio signals to the audio processor. In the attenuation mode, the audio processor controls the adjustor to output unadjusted audio signals or attenuated audio signals. A related method for adjusting sound volume for an audio system is also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying and controlling a symmetry-type OSD (on-screen display) menu in an image display device includes a key input unit (10), a control unit (11), an OSD menu generation unit (12), a storage unit (13), an image signal output unit (14), a pre-amplifier (15), an image output unit (16), and an image display device (17). The key input unit is for pressing to output command signals for displaying and controlling function control targets in the symmetry-type OSD menu. The control unit is for outputting control signals and control data to display and control the symmetry-type OSD menu according to the command signals. Each function control target includes related optional items, and can be expanded into its related optional items at an active area of the image display device. Further, each function control target can be displayed in a different size according to its display position.

Abstract: An apparatus (10) for adjusting sound volume for an audio system includes a controller (101) connected to an amplifier (40) of the audio system for controlling amplification of the amplifier, and a first circuit (102) for adjusting the sound volume. The controller includes a microprogrammed control unit (1010), a random-access memory (1012), and an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (1014). The first circuit includes an attenuation circuit (1022) connected to a tuner (20) of the audio system for attenuating input audio signals, and a switch (1024). An input end of the switch is connected to the tuner, an output end of the attenuation circuit and the microprogrammed control unit; and an output end of the switch is connected to an audio processor (30). The apparatus enables a user to freely adjust an average level of sound produced by the audio system, and simultaneously avoid being bothered by loud transmissions.

Abstract: A system for controlling volume with a single knob includes: a knob (10) for generating rotation signals; a controlling apparatus (11) for determining a rotational direction and speed of each rotation signal, and generating corresponding volume controlling signals for adjusting volume according to the rotation signals; and an audio amplifier (12) for adjusting volume according to the volume controlling signals. The knob includes a rotational operation part (100) and a rotation signal generating circuit (101). The controlling apparatus includes a number of input ports (110), a timer (111), a counter (112), a ROM (Read Only Memory) (113), a RAM (Random Access Memory) (114), a CPU (Central Processing Unit) (115), a PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) (116), and a number of output ports (117). A related method for controlling volume with a single knob is also disclosed.
