  • Publication number: 20170231014
Abstract: A network-to-network interface (NNI) gateway for inter-communication between a Push-to-Talk-over-Cellular (PoC) system in a first wireless network and a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system in a second wireless network. The PoC system performs a PoC call session for PoC mobile units in the first wireless network. The LMR system performs a Push-to-Talk (PTT) call session for LMR subscriber units in the second wireless network. Both the PoC and PIT call sessions comprise an instant two-way half-duplex voice call within a group of the PoC mobile units and/or LMR subscriber units. The gateway bridges the LMR system to the PoC system, such that the PoC system is exposed to the LMR system as an emulated LMR system, the LMR system is exposed to the PoC system as an emulated PoC system, and calls are placed across the first and second wireless networks between the PoC mobile units and LMR subscriber units.

  • Patent number: 9717528
Abstract: An external fixation system includes top and bottom fixation plates that may be connected to fragments of a bone. At least one y-shaped strut attaches the two fixation plates. Each y-shaped strut has first, second and third telescopic struts coupled at a connector joint. The first strut member is coupled to the top fixation plate and the second and third strut members are coupled to the bottom fixation plate. Each strut member may include a joint and may also include an actuation unit connecting the particular strut member to the top or bottom fixation plate. Rotation of a head portion of the actuation unit causes rotation of a threaded rod, causing adjustment in the length of the respective strut member. As the lengths of the strut members change, the joints may reposition, leading to the top fixation plate becoming repositioned with respect to the bottom fixation plate.

  • Patent number: 9705525
Abstract: A sensor that can provide multiple resolutions, based on the output of the same analog-to-digital converter is disclosed. Some applications require a fast measurement of a physical parameter (e.g., temperature, voltage, pressure), but can tolerate a lower resolution measurement. Other applications require a higher resolution measurement, but can tolerate a slower measurement. The sensor may comprise a sigma delta modulator (SDM) ADC that outputs a digital reading. The output may comprise a bus having a width that is equal to the desired highest resolution of the digital code for the physical parameter. The sensor may further comprise a storage unit for each desired level of resolution. The sensor may further comprise logic that causes the storage units to sample the output bus after a certain number of clock cycles in order to store a digital code having a number of bits equal to the resolution.
