    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include techniques for encoding and decoding metadata in error correction codes. During read operation, a decoder generates a first output corresponding to the at least one metadata bit having a first state and a second output corresponding to the at least one metadata bit having a second state. When one of the first and second outputs have a zero value, the decoder sets a value of the at least one metadata bit to the first state or the second state corresponding to the first output or the second output having the zero value. When both the first and second outputs are non-zero, the decoder decodes the codeword with the assumption of both the metadata bit having the first state and the second state to determine if the codeword is correctable with the at least one metadata bit.

The latent space may be based on a deep learning model that accounts for facial expression and neck pose in face/neck images and that accounts for breathing and body pose in body images. The body composition analysis circuitry may output an estimated body composition based on the image data and based on user demographic information.

The payment application and the payment card may be provided by an issuer server. Using the payment application, the number of transactions allowed on the payment card or an amount limit is set for the payment card. The payment application is used to set, reset, change the value of a counter in the card, which determines the number of allowed transactions. When the user attempts to make a transaction at a POS terminal, the payment card reads the value of counter, and if the value is not equal to a threshold value, the payment card exchanges data with the POS terminal and updates the value of the counter. The payment card is precluded from transaction when value of the counter is equal to threshold value.
