  • Patent number: 7626911
Abstract: A hologram reproduction apparatus and method is disclosed wherein positioning between reproduction reference light and a hologram recording medium can be performed accurately. Reference light is irradiated upon the medium recorded by angle multiple recording, and reproduction light generated from the medium is received by an image pickup apparatus to reproduce data. Thereupon, projection information of light which cannot pass through an iris but is projected on the iris is detected by an optical detector. A position control section detects a positional displacement of the medium based on projection state information on the inner side of a projection region of reproduction light generated from an adjacent recording area to the recording area of a reproduction target from within the detection information and controls a drive mechanism to move the medium so as to eliminate the positional displacement.

  • Publication number: 20090262633
Abstract: When an optical disc apparatus reproduces information from an optical disc, it converges a reading light beam emitted from an LED to substantially collimated light and projects it to the optical disc to cause it to be reflected by reflection surface thereof so as to make it become a reading reflected light beam. Then, the apparatus converges the reading reflected light beam by a mark layer selection lens, detects the reading reflected light beam passing through the target position by a detection region located at the confocal point of the target position and generates a detection signal. Subsequently, the apparatus recognizes the presence or absence of a recording mark based on the detection signal to reproduce the information. Thus, the apparatus can detect the state of the reading reflected light beam observed when it passes the target position and can recognize the presence or absence of a recording mark.

  • Publication number: 20090031978
Abstract: A heat accumulator (1) is formed by connecting a first container (4) and a second container (5) using a spring (6). The first container (4) has a wall-shaped inner side wall that corresponds to the shape of a cylinder bore wall (7). Provided on this inner side wall is a flexible structural part (8). The flexible structural part (8) is formed of highly elastic resin. The second container (5) has a similar structure. A heat storage medium within the first container (4) and the second container (5) absorbs heat, which generates a change of phase from a solid to a liquid. When this happens, the volume of the heat storage medium increases. The increase in the heat storage medium projects the flexible structural part (8), and separates the first container (4) and the second container (5) from the cylinder bore wall (7).

  • Publication number: 20090020366
Abstract: An oil pan (130) comprises an oil pan cover (131) storing oil in an internal space and an oil pan separator (132) positioned in the internal space. The oil pan separator (132) is positioned so as to divide the internal space into a first chamber (30a), which has an oil strainer (41) at its bottom, and a second chamber (30b), which is adjacent to the first chamber (30a). The oil pan separator (132) includes a slope plate (132c) for capturing return oil that flows back from a cylinder block (20a) to an oil pan (130). Part of the captured return oil flows to the second chamber (30b) via a communication hole (132f) that is provided in the slope plate (132c). The remaining captured return oil flows into the first chamber (30a). This ensures that the oil level in the second chamber (30b) is higher than that in the first chamber (30a). Therefore, when a solenoid valve (133) opens at the end of a warm-up operation, the oil in the second chamber (30b) flows into the first chamber (30a).
