  • Publication number: 20020087234
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product enhance the commercial value of electrical power produced from a wind turbine production facility. Features include the use of a premier power conversion device that provides an alternative source of power for supplementing an output power of the wind turbine generation facility when lull periods for wind speed appear. The invention includes a communications infrastructure and coordination mechanism for establishing a relationship with another power production facility such that when excess electrical power is produced by the wind turbine facility, the excess may be provided to the power grid while the other energy production facility cuts back on its output production by a corresponding amount. A tracking mechanism keeps track of the amount of potential energy that was not expended at the other facility and places this amount in a virtual energy storage account, for the benefit of the wind turbine facility.

  • Patent number: 6303278
Abstract: In using a photoinitiator and irradiation with UV-light suitable monomers can be selectively inoculated on the surface of a non conducting substrate in a distinct pattern. Metal ions are thereafter absorbed by these monomers and are reduced. To this pattern further conducting materials, e.g. metals, can thereafter be added in a conventional way. The method according to the invention comprises a fully additive method to produce a circuit board with high resolution and the production of functional components directly on a non conducting substrate. • Patent number: 5974863
Abstract: Method and device for indicating movements of gas bubbles in a liquid, droplets of liquid in a gas or a level of liquid, the liquid or the gas forming a medium in a conduit (15) or a container. Microwave signals of a predetermined frequency are transmitted through a section (G) of the conduit (15) or the container (16) that is pervious to microwaves toward said medium, and microwave signals reflected from the medium are received. Received microwave signals are then utilized to indicate presence of gas bubbles, droplets, or a level of a liquid moving in said conduit (15) or said container (16).Said conduit (15) is designed with a section (G) that is pervious to microwaves, and a microwave transmitter (S) is provided to transmit microwave signals towards said section (G). A microwave receiver (M) is provided to receive microwave signals that are reflected from the medium, and said microwave receiver (M) is operatively connected to a detector (6).

  • Patent number: 5659284
Abstract: An electric protective circuit includes an electric fuse and an electric resistance loop connected in series with the fuse, the fuse and loop being mounted on a substrate. The fuse includes a solder that is connected as a resistance in a current series circuit between connection terminals and that melts at elevated temperatures caused by heating of the substrate. The solder is surrounded by a material that protects the solder against oxidation by the surrounding air and completely covers the solder, enabling the solder to contract onto the connecting terminals when it melts and break the current path. The material is temperature-stable in a solid state of normal fuse operating temperatures and includes one or a combination of waxes, resins, thermoplastics, and synthetic fluxes. The material is applied in a region or area surrounding the solder that is delimited by barrier walls that prevent the material from running away from the region.

  • Patent number: 5649404
Abstract: A lock-wedge bracket (10) is intended to straddle a beam and can be mounted at any desired position on the beam. It comprises a short leg (12) and a long leg (14), forming a 90.degree. angle with each other. An angle flange (16) on the leg (12) is bent 90.degree. and the outer edge of the leg (14) is bent over approximately 105.degree.. A wedge (23) and a hook (29) with a lip (31) are disposed in a slot in the leg (14). The distal end of the leg (14) thereby acts as a pressure spring (18) for resilient pressing of the wedge against the hook, which in turn is brought into engagement with the lip (31) under the lateral edge of the beam.

  • Patent number: 5272786
Abstract: A household scraper for cleansing kitchen sinks and the like. The scraper includes a central, curved or recessed part which is perforated with a number of holes. The scraper also includes a curved bottom edge and two side-edges which are also curved. An outwardly angled zone is provided between the central part and the lower edge. This outwardly angled zone also extends between the central part and a bottom section of the side-edges of the scraper. The scraper is made, for instance, of a plastics material and enables waste material, for instance food residues, to be collected and removed in an expedient, effective and time-saving manner. The holes provided in the center part of the scraper enable liquid contained by the food residues to drain-off while collecting the waste material.

  • Patent number: 4021233
Abstract: The carbon content in iron, cobalt, or nickel based alloys containing at least about 16% chromium is substantially eliminated without significant loss of chromium by blowing the alloy with oxygen to oxidize the carbon and simultaneously introducing steam or ammonia in amounts such that the partial pressure of carbon monoxide (formed by oxidation of carbon) is lower than that which corresponds to the equilibrium pressure for the carbon/chromium oxidation e.g. below 0.95 and preferably below 0.5 atmospheres.

  • Patent number: 4007021
Abstract: Method and apparatus for drying compressed air, for example the compressed air from a compressor in the braking system of automotive vehicles. The apparatus comprises a pair of drying chambers having a regeneratable drying medium therein and connections for causing compressed air to flow alternatively through the two chambers. The apparatus provides a system in which the compressed air is directed through one of the chambers into a receiver for storage or use. A portion of the dried air from the outlet of the first chamber is caused to flow through the second chamber to drive out the moisture from the regeneratable drying medium. When the air pressure in the receiver reaches a maximum level, the apparatus interrupts the flow of dried air into the receiver, directs all of the compressed air from the compressor through the second chamber and directs all of the dried air from the outlet of the second chamber through the first chamber to regenerate the same.
