  • Publication number: 20090258631
Abstract: In a non-limiting and exemplary embodiment, a method is provided for arranging authentication of mobility related signalling messages in a mobile communications system. An authentication code is generated on the basis of a previous authentication code stored in connection with a preceding authentication code generation event. The newly generated authentication code is stored for subsequent authentication code generation event. In response to change of the mobile device to an access network of the network entity, a control message comprising the authentication code is transmitted from a mobile device to a first network entity, for verifying the authentication code by the first network entity or by a second network entity of a previous access system.

  • Patent number: 7430534
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for minimizing risks associated with meteorology dependent activity. Such activity may include operation of renewable power sources and the delivery of power output from those renewable sources for sale on a market. The system and method identify risks to market participants in the event of possible shortfall, and provide metrics and mitigation processes for addressing the risks before the contractual breaches occurs for failure to deliver power, or imbalances occurred in grid operations.

  • Patent number: 6940711
Abstract: An electronic energy meter and its package is described in which the meter package has a reduced number of parts, and the main circuit board assembly has the metering electronics on board, thereby eliminating the need for flying leads and point-to-point wiring within the package. The energy meter includes a first enclosure portion, a circuit board assembly for performing metering functions, a partial terminal block, and a second enclosure portion. The first and second enclosure portions are mateable with each other to form a meter package, in which the circuit board assembly and partial terminal block are at least partially contained within the meter package.

  • Patent number: 6913187
Abstract: A method of providing thermal vias in a printed circuit board that includes one or more layers of board material is disclosed. The vias provide for conducting heat from components mounted on the board. One or more holes (4) are provided in a printed circuit board that may include several metal layers. A metal ball (6) is inserted into each hole and subjected to pressure such as to deform said ball, and tightly fixating the resultant slug against the wall (5) of said hole. The deformed ball or slug fixed in the hole, which may have a metallised inner surface, functions to conduct heat and/or electricity between a metallised topside (2) and bottom side (3) of the printed circuit board and also between intermediate metallised layers in the case of a multi-layer board.

  • Publication number: 20050127680
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product enhance the commercial value of electrical power produced from a wind turbine production facility. Features include the use of a premier power conversion device that provides an alternative source of power for supplementing an output power of the wind turbine generation facility when lull periods for wind speed appear. The invention includes a communications infrastructure and coordination mechanism for establishing a relationship with another power production facility such that when excess electrical power is produced by the wind turbine facility, the excess may be provided to the power grid while the other energy production facility cuts back on its output production by a corresponding amount. A tracking mechanism keeps track of the amount of potential energy that was not expended at the other facility and places this amount in a virtual energy storage account, for the benefit of the wind turbine facility.

  • Patent number: 6902764
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a body at least partially coated with one or more refractory layers of which at least one layer essentially consist of ?-Al2O3. Said ?-Al2O3 layer consists of essentially equiaxed grains with an average grain size of <1 ?m and with a bimodal grain size distribution with coarser grains with an average grainsize in the interval 0.5-1 ?m and finer grains with an average grainsize of <0.5 ?m. The Al2O3 layer further contains striated zones containing titanium (>5 at %) but no nitrogen or carbon. This particular microstructure is obtained by temporarily stopping the gases needed for the growth of the Al2O3 layer and introducing TiCl4.

  • Patent number: 6877221
Abstract: The present invention relates to a copper ball insertion machine, for integrating metal inserts in via holes provided through a printed circuit board (PCB), comprising a motor driven X-Y table (2) with the PCB on top. The X-Y table (2) is adjustable to position a selected via hole in a predetermined location aligned with a closable outlet opening (12) of a movable container (6) for metal inserts. The container is by means of a clamping cylinder (28) displaceable for clamping the part of the PCB adjacent said via hole against the working surface (2) of said X-Y table. By means of a pivoting cylinder (20) the container is rotatable for feeding one metal insert through the outlet opening (12) into said via hole. A stamp (30) is drivable by a hammer cylinder (40) for compressing said metal insert to shape and deform it into a tight fit with the via hole.
