  • Patent number: 10120573
Abstract: An improved interface for managing disparate read, write, and erase sizes and operations in data storage devices is provided. By improving an interface between a storage system driver layer and associated storage devices, performance of data storage is improved, including improving data storage speed and storage media endurance. Storage media management operations are made more efficient and consistent by providing improved types and sequences of commands sent from the driver layer to the device control layer such that data write operations are performed in a sequential manner as write commands are directed to portions of data as opposed to buffering individual portions of data followed by a large wholescale write/erase process for the buffered data.

  • Publication number: 20180315061
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing user interactions with applications. Entry points to a content distribution may be provided to content platforms, such that the entry points may be associated with a distribution identifier associated with an application identifier. Content data associated with the distribution identifier may be collected from a data store, such that the content data may be partially normalized to conform to a unified data model. Attribution data that may be produced by an application associated with the application identifier may be collected. The attribution data may be provided by a metrics engine of the application. The content data and the attribution data may be correlated based on the application identifier and the distribution identifier. Fields of the content data and the attribution data may be transformed into unified metric values. Reports based on the unified metric values may be provided.

  • Patent number: 9952968
Abstract: Techniques for distributed cache management are provided. A server having backend resource includes a global cache and a global cache agent. Individual clients each have client cache agents and client caches. When data items associated with the backend resources are added, modified, or deleted in the client caches, the client cache agents report the changes to the global cache agent. The global cache agent records the changes and notifies the other client cache agents to update a status of the changes within their client caches. When the changes are committed to the backend resource each of the statuses in each of the caches are updated accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20180068408
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-storage media are provided for generating graphical representations of audit events. A party-of-interest is represented by a central node, and one or more peripheral nodes surrounding the central node represent parties having electronic records accessed by the party-of-interest during a selected time frame. The size of the peripheral nodes represents a frequency of access of the node's respective electronic record. Each of the peripheral nodes is actionable enabling a user to view information related to the audit event.

  • Patent number: 9876701
Abstract: An indexing arrangement enables efficient search and retrieval of indexes persistently stored in a metadata repository and used to locate packets captured from a network and persistently stored in a data repository. The packets are captured at a packet capture and retrieval system having persistent storage devices organized as files of the metadata and data repositories. Search and retrieval of the indexes within the files of the metadata repository occur at substantially a same time as one or more other captured packets is written to one or more files of the data repository to realize a substantially high sustained packet transfer rate of the network.

  • Patent number: 9734474
Abstract: A method, system and medium are provided for enabling re-creation of a state of a computing system as it existed at a selected time. A plurality of data elements are tracked including functions and reference information employed in calculating one or more of the data elements. Versions of functions and reference information are also tracked. Thereby, a time at which to recreate the state of the system is selectable and the data elements that were available at or before the selected time are identifiable. And the versions of functions and reference information that were available at the selected time are identifiable. The state of the system at the selected time can thus be reviewed or analyzed as desired.

  • Patent number: 9704468
Abstract: The embodiments herein provide an apparatus and method for cancelling signal noise. According to one embodiment, an apparatus for cancelling signal noise has a sensor or receiver to capture the undesirable signals. A transducer converts the energy of the captured signals and modulates the captured undesirable signals. A signal inverting circuit is connected to the transducer to generate the inverse of the captured undesirable signals by inverting the amplitude of the undesirable signal while maintain the frequency at the same level. The generated inverse of the undesirable signal transmitted by a transmitter is received by a receiver and output through a speaker so that the output inverse of the undesirable signal is combined with the undesirable signal to produce a desired signal environment.

  • Patent number: 9674298
Abstract: A secondary indexing technique cooperates with primary indices of an indexing arrangement to enable efficient storage and access of metadata used to retrieve packets persistently stored in data files of a data repository. Efficient storage and access of the metadata used to retrieve the persistently stored packets may be based on a target value of the packets over a search time window. The metadata is illustratively organized as a metadata repository of primary index files that store the primary indices containing hash values of network flows of the packets, as well as offsets and paths to those packets stored in the data files. The technique includes one or more secondary indices having a plurality of present bits arranged in a binary format (i.e., a bit array) to indicate the presence of the target value in one or more packets stored in the data files over the search time window. Notably, the present bits may be used to reduce (i.e., “prune”) a relatively large search space of the stored packets (e.g.
