    Abstract: An apparatus for generating a 2D spreading code and method for the same are proposed. The apparatus for generating the 2D spreading code includes a column counter, a row counter, a codeword selector, and a logic unit. The logic unit performs logic operations on the output of the column counter, the row counter, and the codeword selector to generate the 2D spreading code of desired order designated by the codeword selector. The 2D spreading code includes 4 2×2 initial matrixes for generating 4i codes for 4i users in the ith order. The apparatus for generating the 2D spreading code according to the present invention is advantageously used in OFDM system to increase the number of subscribers with reduced interference.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for de-mapping symbols in a Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) system are provided. In the present invention, an estimated channel effect and a plurality of received data symbols are used to estimate a plurality of transmitted data symbols. A plurality of constellation points around an estimated value are selected as the detected values of the transmitted data symbol after the estimated value of one of the transmitted data symbols is calculated. Then, the detected values are used to calculate the detected values of remaining transmitted data symbols separately so as to obtain a plurality of detected value sets. Finally, a best one among the detected value sets is chosen as a result of de-mapping the received symbols. Therefore, only a few detected value sets are calculated and a better detected result is obtained, which possesses low complexity and high performance.

    Abstract: A power assisted vehicle includes an auxiliary propelling device disposed to the frame body. The auxiliary propelling device has an auxiliary wheel and at least one transmission portion disposed in the auxiliary wheel. When two friction wheels of the transmission portion fasten to two sides of a friction ring of the auxiliary wheel, and the two power sources is in reverse to drive the two friction wheels for rotating, a wheel rim and a tire are further driven to produce rotations. The power assisted vehicle is therefore capable of self-propelled going forward without any external force. A processing device is further disposed in the power assisted vehicle. The auxiliary propelling device is then activated when the power assisted vehicle is at a specific speed. The energy consumption for the power sources is then reduced and the service life is extended. The transmission force distribution generated from the power sources is further adjustable. The usage of the power assisted vehicle is more efficient.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method of combining and mixing in precise proportions two or more chemicals or compounds is disclosed. The basic design of the apparatus comprises an operator control system, a drive motive assembly, one or more mixing chamber assemblies, and a cooling system. Suitable proportions of each chemical or compound may be controlled with relatively high precision. In one embodiment, the mixing chamber assemblies each comprise at least one static mixer having a plurality of perforations encased in an outer air-injection jacket. In this embodiment, the apparatus is used to make a cool, stabilized foam product, (e.g., whipping cream) infused with an alcoholic beverage without the need for adding supplemental foam stabilizing agents (e.g., polypropylene glycol alginate or pectin) to the product.

    Abstract: An equalization method suitable for use in a receiver in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system utilizing a plurality of sub-carriers. The receiver includes an outer receiver for decoding. The equalization method includes receiving an input signal including at least one preamble symbol containing a training sequence and a plurality of informative OFDM symbols each containing a serial stream of samples, and performing compensations for each of the informative OFDM symbols. Compensation for each of the informative OFDM symbols includes converting the serial stream of samples into parallel samples, performing a fast Fourier transform (FFT) of the parallel samples to obtain a plurality of data symbols, each data symbol corresponding to a sub-carrier, compensating the data symbols for at least one first phase distortion and at least one second phase distortion, and providing at least one amplitude distortion factor to the outer receiver.
