    Abstract: A roaster for roasting articles includes a containing device, an air supplying device, a first separating device, and a collector device. The containing device defines a roasting chamber. The air supplying device generates a heated air stream that flows into the roasting chamber. The first separating device has a shell unit disposed above the containing device, and a first separating member disposed in the shell unit and configured such that impurities which are carried along with the heated air stream are filtered out from the heated air stream. The collector device is connected to the shell unit for collecting the impurities filtered out from the heated air stream.

    Abstract: An electronic assembly including a circuit board, a heat-generating element, and a heat pipe is provided. The heat-generating element includes a bottom surface and a side surface connected to the bottom surface. The heat-generating element is mounted on the circuit board via the bottom surface. The heat pipe is thermally coupled to the side surface of the heat-generating element to absorb heat from the heat-generating element. Additionally, an electronic device includes a casing, a display, and the above-described electronic assembly. The display is mounted on the casing. The electronic assembly is disposed in the casing. The heat-generating element is mounted on the circuit board and its side surface is thermally coupled to the heat pipe. As a result, the limitation on the thickness of the heat pipe is relaxed, thereby allowing the efficiency of the heat pipe to be increased.

    Abstract: A polishing system and associated methods are described for polishing a magnetic disk used in a disk drive system. The polishing system includes a polishing film that is used to polish the magnetic disk. The polishing system also includes an actuator operable to move the polishing film across a surface of the magnetic disk to polish the magnetic disk. The polishing system also includes a pad having at least one protrusion extending from a surface of the pad. The protrusion is configured to contact the polishing film and press the polishing film against the magnetic disk. The protrusion is operable to compress to about the surface of the pad when in contact with the polishing film. Once polishing is complete, the pad retracts from the polishing film and the protrusion extends from the pad, reducing the adhesion force between the pad and the polishing film.

    Abstract: Spread spectrum clock generation (SSCG) using phase modulation. A first clock signal having a first frequency spectrum may be modulated using phase modulation to produce a second clock signal. The phase modulation may include providing a phase modulation profile corresponding to the integrated frequency modulation profile, to adjust a scaling factor used in obtaining the second clock signal. The phase modulation profile may be provided in the form of a pulse or pulses, which may be injected through pulse density modulation or pulse width modulation at the output of a phase frequency detector comprised in a phase locked loop circuit used in generating the second clock signal. This modified phase modulation technique removes the down spread limitation present in traditional PM implementations, and also provides better jitter performance and lower cost than traditional PM implementations.
