    Abstract: A battery electrolyte solution contains a lithium salt dissolved in a solvent phase comprising at least 10% by weight N of (2,2-difluoroethyl) ethyl carbonate. The solvent phase comprises optionally other solvent materials such as 4-fluoroethylene carbonate and other carbonate solvents. This battery electrolyte is highly stable even when used in batteries in which the cathode material has a high operating potential (such as 4.5V or more) relative to Li/Li+. Batteries containing this electrolyte solution therefore have excellent cycling stability.

    Abstract: A framework for reliably communicating port information in a system of devices is provided. In one embodiment, each device in the system of devices can create a first record that includes port information pertaining to a plurality of ports of the device, where the plurality of ports are usable for communicatively coupling the device to other devices in the system of devices. The device can further receive, from the other devices in the system of devices, one or more second records including port information pertaining to the ports of the other devices, and can store the first record and the one or more second records in a data store maintained locally on the device. The device can then forward copies of the first record and the one or more second records out of each of the plurality of ports, thereby causing the copies of the first record and the one or more second records to be communicated to the other devices in the system of devices.

Each timer corresponds to a respective buffer, times waiting period after the corresponding buffer outputs the normal transmission request, and outputs a time-out transmission request when the waiting period exceeds a predetermined period. The arbiter receives the time-out transmission requests and the normal transmission requests, and selects one of the buffers from all of the time-out transmission requests and the normal transmission requests.

    Abstract: The present invention provides nonionic surfactants, compositions incorporating these surfactants, and related methods of making and using such surfactants and compositions. As an overview, the nonionic surfactants of the present invention have a structure in which the surfactant backbone includes one or more amine moieties.
