Abstract: Peer-to-peer redundant file server system and methods include clients that determine a target storage provider to contact for a particular storage transaction based on a pathname provided by the filesystem and a predetermined scheme such as a hash function applied to a portion of the pathname. Servers use the same scheme to determine where to store relevant file information so that the clients can locate the file information. The target storage provider may store the file itself and/or may store metadata that identifies one or more other storage providers where the file is stored. A file may be replicated in multiple storage providers, and the metadata may include a list of storage providers from which the clients can select (e.g., randomly) in order to access the file.

Abstract: Techniques described herein may be used to conserver battery power of an Internet of Things (IoT) tracker by increasing the overall amount of time that the IoT tracker is in a battery conservation mode (a sleep mode, a Power Save Mode (PSM), etc.). A IoT tracker may implement a battery conservation policy that may include instructions that cause the IoT tracker to monitor certain conditions, determine when the conditions satisfy a particular trigger, and implement a battery conservation mode in response to those conditions. Examples of such conditions may include (1) the IoT tracker being close to a user device designated to track the location of the IoT tracker, (2) identifying that a current time and day are associated with a pre-selected schedule for disabling tracking services, (3) the IoT tracker being located within a particular geographic area, and more.

Abstract: A smart hook system for a store display including a hook configured to hang smart items having a resistor and a capacitor for display in a store. The hook at least one resistive electrical contact configured to come into electrical circuit contact with the resistor of the smart items hanging on the hook, and at least one capacitive electrical contact configured to come into electrical contact with the capacitor of the smart items that are hanging on hook. The smart hook also includes a processor configured to measure the resistance and capacitance of the smart items that are hanging on hook, and determine a quantity of the smart items hanging on the hook and identity of the smart items hanging on the hook based on the measured resistance and capacitance.

Abstract: Inductive wireless charging for mobile devices are described that utilize resonant inductive coupling between a wireless inductive charging device and the battery of the mobile device. The power transfer from the charging device to the mobile device is adjustable. Signals are sent between the devices to determine power transfer efficiency and to adjust settings to approach or achieve a desired target efficiency.

Abstract: A device may obtain information. The information may represent a distance between a first user device and a second user device. The first user device and the second user device may share a destination address. The device may receive a first message associated with a call. The first message may be received based on the call having been made to the destination address. The device may determine, based on the information, whether to provide a second message associated with the call or a notification associated with the call. The device may selectively provide the second message or the notification based on determining whether to provide the second message or the notification.

Abstract: A charging system may include a charging apparatus having a controller and a power transmitter. The controller may be configured to initiate authentication of a device by communicating with the device via a first electromagnetic field. The transmitter, in response to the authentication, may be configured to transmit power to the device via a second electromagnetic field.

Abstract: Generation and segregation of mobile device biometric application template storage is described. Applications request a memory domain within mobile device storage for storing enrolled templates in the domain. The application calls a secure API associated with the biometric driver and software of the mobile device. As a result, the biometric driver and software does not search a number of domains to locate the enrolled templates that correspond to the mobile application or search all enrolled templates stored in memory. The mobile device applications maintain control of the storage domain and the template. The enrolled template may only be deleted through the controlling mobile device application.

Abstract: Electric water heater heating device comprising a housing composed of an upper cover and a lower shell, a metal guide tube and a magnetic coil which are mounted in the housing. The metal guide tube is designed as a spiral shape and is divided into two groups each including two layers. The metal spiral guide tube of a lower layer continuously winds inward from periphery to center, and the metal spiral guide tube of an upper layer continuously winds outward from center to periphery. The two groups of the metal spiral guide tubes are respectively arranged above and under the magnetic coil for heating. In the heating device electromagnetic pulse waves, which are excited by the magnetic coil according to magnetic coil principle, are used to penetrate at high speed the metal spiral guide tubes arranged above and under the magnetic coil to cause the metal spiral guide tubes to generate high heat.

Abstract: A charger and a mobile device exchange messages indicating that high wattage charging is supported over a bidirectional communication channel. After the message exchange, the charger sends a controlled output voltage and current to the mobile device over a cable connected between the charger and the mobile device. The mobile device takes an input voltage measurement that corresponds to the controlled output voltage after being passed through the cable. The charger or mobile device may then calculate a resistance of the cable based on a difference between the controlled output voltage and the input voltage measurement. Based on the resistance of the cable, the controlled voltage and current used to charge a battery of the mobile device is adjusted in order to avoid exceeding capacity of the cable.

Abstract: Examples of power conservation management for user equipment based on the operating state of the user equipment are provided. A user equipment may implement a power managing application that monitors the activity of the user equipment, such as the number of applications open on the user equipment, the data usage requirements for each open application, data delay tolerances for each application and/or a level of user interaction with the device at a given moment. Based on the level of activity and the data requirements, the managing application on the user equipment is able to make a discontinuous reception profile setting recommendation selected from more than two discontinuous reception profiles to the mobile communications network entity. In response to the discontinuous reception profile setting recommendation, the network entity may modify the connection status with the user equipment.

Abstract: A device is configured to receive a request for directions from a user device. The device determines a start time, a start location, and a destination location for the directions. The device determines a route from the start location to the destination location and obtains travel condition information corresponding to the route. The travel condition information indicates a traffic condition or a weather condition. The device predicts a future travel condition along the route based on the travel condition information and the start time. The device generates the directions based on the future travel condition and provides the directions to the user device.

Abstract: An example of a method of keyword identification and content overlay is described. A mobile device identifies a keyword within a file containing one or more images. The identified keyword is compared to a collection of pre-stored keywords. If the identified keyword matches one of the pre-stored keywords, content corresponding to the matched pre-stored keyword is overlaid onto the image and the image with the overlaid content is displayed. A user of the mobile device can select the overlaid content to retrieve additional information related to the identified keyword.

Abstract: A device may provide a baseline uplink audio signal and a baseline downlink audio signal to create a double talk communication for a user device. The device may receive an audio signal, transmitted by the user device, based on providing the baseline uplink audio signal and the baseline downlink audio signal. The device may determine a score based on the audio signal. The score may indicate an effectiveness of the user device with regard to processing audio associated with the double talk communication. The device may provide information that identifies the score to indicate the effectiveness of the user device with regard to processing audio associated with the double talk communication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus enable provisioning of a mobile device with access information for an account. A secure element within a subscriber identity module (SIM) or universal integrated circuit card (UICC) of the mobile device may be provisioned to enable account access. Provisioning may be performed by obtaining card data for a card associated with an account using an automated data capture device, confirming validity of the account by exchanging the card data with a user authentication server, confirming validity of the mobile device by exchanging mobile device information with a device authentication server, sending a request from the mobile device to provision the mobile device after confirming validity of the account and the mobile device, receiving provisioning instructions to provision the mobile device with the access information for the account, and provisioning the mobile device with the access information for the account based on the provisioning instructions.

Abstract: A fuel supply prompting method obtains a remaining fuel level of a vehicle from a detection unit, determines a fuel economy of the vehicle, and determines an available moving distance of the vehicle that the remaining fuel level can sustain according to the fuel economy of the vehicle. The method recalls a navigation system to determine a distance of a route from a current position of the vehicle to a destination. The method compares the available moving distance with the distance of the route from the current position of the vehicle to the destination, to determine whether the vehicle can reach the destination without refueling. The method further generates a first prompt when the vehicle cannot reach the destination without refueling. And a related vehicle assistance device is also provided.

Abstract: The invention relates to the optical films, in particular to a quantum dot film applied to a backlight module. The quantum dot film aims to solve the problem that the color saturation of a liquid crystal displayer is poor. The novel quantum dot film comprises a quantum dot layer, and an upper waterproof layer and a lower waterproof layer are arranged on the upper surface of the quantum dot layer and the lower surface of the quantum dot layer respectively. The quantum dot layer comprises, by weight, 100 parts of adhesives, 5-20 parts of silica gel particles, 1-20 parts of diffusion particles and 0.1-20 parts of quantum dots. The surface of the silica gel particles is provided with a micropore structure. The quantum dots are adsorbed in micropores of the silica gel particles or dispersed in the adhesives. The silica gel particles and the diffusion particles are dispersed in the adhesives. The quantum dot film is applied to the backlight module and has the advantages of improving the color gamut and illuminance.

Abstract: A system may obtain identification information for a user for obtaining a form of access using universal enrollment. The system may obtain a digital certificate associated with the identification information, the digital certificate including a public key of a public key, private key pair and the public key and the private key of the public key, private key pair being generated using first biometric information of the user obtained during the universal enrollment. The system may obtain second biometric information. The system may generate a second private key using the second biometric information. The system may determine whether the second private key matches the public key included in the digital certificate. The system may provide the form of access based on the second private key matching the public key included in the digital certificate.
