Publication number: 20140181959Abstract: An input device may be in communication with an application processor, wherein the input device may be configured to receive an input and the application processor may be configured to translate the input to a received template. A secure element may be in communication with the application processor and configured to receive the received template from the application processor. The secure element may include a matcher and an enrolled template database. The matcher may be configured to compare the received template from the application processor with an enrolled template within the enrolled template database and return a match status based on the comparison.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2012Publication date: June 26, 2014Applicant: CELLCO PARTNERSHIP (D/B/A VERIZON WIRELESS)Inventors: Yuk Lun Li, Praveen Venkataramu

Publication number: 20140139756Abstract: A display module includes a display device, a pivot member, and a reflection-mirror device. The display device includes a light splitting device and a monitor for displaying first and second images arranged alternately. The light splitting device is disposed at a position corresponding to a light exit side of the monitor for splitting the first and second images along first and second splitting directions respectively. The pivot member is disposed at a side of the display device. The reflection-mirror device is connected to the pivot member to be foldably pivoted to the side of the display device. The reflection-mirror device is for reflecting the first images split along the first splitting direction in a reflection direction when being unfolded relative to the display device. The reflection direction is relatively biased toward the monitor so as to form an included angle cooperatively with a normal of the monitor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2013Publication date: May 22, 2014Applicant: WINTEK CORPORATIONInventors: Chun-Ho Chen, Chung-Lun Li, Kun-Chang Ho, Wen-Chun Wang, Ching-Fu Hsu, Chong-Yang Fang

Publication number: 20140071096Abstract: In a method to display a current input of a stylus, the method controls a communication unit to receive a notification signal notifying that a first input of the stylus is selected from a touch device. Then the method selects a second input of the stylus from the storage device, and the second input is the same as the first input. The method further sends the second input to a display unit, and displays the second input on the display unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2012Publication date: March 13, 2014Applicant: FIH (HONG KONG) LIMITEDInventor: YU-LUN LI

Publication number: 20130183525Abstract: The present disclosure provides polyimide fibers with kidney-shaped cross-section and their preparation methods thereof, falling within the technical field of polyimide fiber. Polyimide fibers with kidney-shaped cross-sections are prepared by a continuous, integrated approach, starting from a polyamic acid solution prepared by reacting an aromatic dianhydride with an aromatic diamine. PAA nascent fibers with kidney-shaped cross-sections are obtained by adopting a spinneret having circular orifices under wet spinning process. The kidney-shaped cross-sections are obtained by varying the processing condition, including spinning speed, coagulation bath composition, coagulation temperature, and depth of coagulation bath. After washing and drying, polyamic acid nascent fibers are converted to polyimide fibers with kidney-shaped cross-sections under thermal curing. The integrated preparation methods are suitable for mass industrial production.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2012Publication date: July 18, 2013Applicant: BEIJING UNIVERSITY OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGYInventors: Dezhen Wu, Enlin Han, Lun Li, Hongqing Niu, Gongping Shang, Shengli Qi, Xiaodong Wang

Patent number: 8417496Abstract: A computer system for modelling and controlling a hydrocarbon reservoir through management of fluid flow at individual wells. The computer system has program instructions which operate a computer model which uses oilfield production data to provide a model of future production. The model comprises an optimal regression model which represents injector and producer wells whose fluid flow characteristics are highly correlated with the fluid flow characteristics of the well of interest; the application of parsimonious information criterion techniques to identify well pairs that statistically contribute information to the optimal regression model; and a statistical reservoir model comprising the product of the optimal regression model and a significance matrix. The system is also provided with control means, responsive to the output of the computer model in order to control wells in the hydrocarbon reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2006Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: The University Court of the University of EdinburghInventors: Ian Main, Lun Li, Orestis Papasouliotis, Thomas Leonard

Publication number: 20130066931Abstract: Peer-to-peer redundant file server system and methods include clients that determine a target storage provider to contact for a particular storage transaction based on a pathname provided by the filesystem and a predetermined scheme such as a hash function applied to a portion of the pathname. Servers use the same scheme to determine where to store relevant file information so that the clients can locate the file information. The target storage provider may store the file itself and/or may store metadata that identifies one or more other storage providers where the file is stored. A file may be replicated in multiple storage providers, and the metadata may include a list of storage providers from which the clients can select (e.g., randomly) in order to access the file.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2012Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: OVERLAND STORAGE, INC.Inventors: Francesco Lacapra, Peter Wallace Steele, Bruno Sartirana, Ernest Ying Sue Hua, I Chung Joseph Lin, Samuel Sui-Lun Li, Nathanael John Diller, Thomas Reynold Ramsdell, Don Nguyen, Kyle Dinh Tran

Publication number: 20120120770Abstract: In a face recognition-based method for an alarm clock, an alarm time of an alarm clock and a predetermined time period are received from a user and saved in the alarm clock. Upon detecting that a current time matches the alarm time, the alarm clock executes an alarm and directs a capture unit to capture at least one image of the user. If the least one image captured from the capture unit includes an open-eye image and the open-eye image exists after the predetermined time period, the alarm clock turns off the alarm automatically.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2011Publication date: May 17, 2012Applicant: FOXCONN COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY CORP.Inventor: YU-LUN LI
