  • Patent number: 11977874
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having one or more autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, an identity of a vehicle operator may be determined and a vehicle operator profile and/or operating data regarding autonomous operation features of the vehicle may be received after the vehicle operator opts into a rewards program and agrees to share their data. Autonomous operation and vehicle operator risk levels associated with operation of the autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be determined. Based upon the risk levels and/or comparison thereof, one or more autonomous operation features may be disengaged. A preparedness level of the vehicle operator to assume or reassume control of operating the vehicle is determined prior to disengagement. If satisfactory, an alert is presented to the vehicle operator prior to disengagement of the autonomous operation features.

  • Publication number: 20240138994
Abstract: An orthopaedic knee prosthesis includes a tibial insert and a femoral component configured to articulate on the tibial insert. The tibial insert includes a lateral articular surface and medial articular surface that is asymmetrically shaped relative to the lateral articular surface. The medial articular surface is shaped to reduce anterior translation of a medial condyle of the femoral component, while the lateral articular surface is shaped to allow a lateral condyle of the femoral component to pivot, relative to the medial articular surface, along an arcuate articular path. Additionally, one or both condyles of the femoral component may include a femoral articular surface having a curved femoral surface section defined by a continuously decreasing radius of curvature.

  • Patent number: 11954482
Abstract: According to certain aspects, a computer-implemented method for operating an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be provided. With the customer's permission, an identity of a vehicle operator may be identified and a vehicle operator profile may be retrieved. Operating data regarding autonomous operation features operating the vehicle may be received from vehicle-mounted sensors. When a request to disable an autonomous feature is received, a risk level for the autonomous feature is determined and compared with a driver behavior setting for the autonomous feature stored in the vehicle operator profile. Based upon the risk level comparison, the autonomous vehicle retains control of vehicle or the autonomous feature is disengaged depending upon which is the safer driver—the autonomous vehicle or the vehicle human occupant. As a result, unsafe disengagement of self-driving functionality for autonomous vehicles may be alleviated.

  • Publication number: 20240069239
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided that perform sonic measurements in a high-angle wellbore or horizontal wellbore or vertical wellbore penetrating highly dipped formation layers where the formation layers can have a high degree of dip relative to the wellbore. Sonic data can be generated from the sonic measurements and processed using multiple arrival event processing to determine formation porosity, elastic rock properties and geometric information for a tool layer and nearby shoulder bed. Such information can be integrated into a 2D or 3D layered model of the formation. The elastic rock properties of the tool layer and shoulder bed derived from the multiple arrival event processing can provide more representative elastic property values, which can account for heterogeneity along the wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20230349501
Abstract: A leak repair device for a pipe comprises a tubular member having an interior surface and an exterior surface with an adhesive or other bonding agent applied to the exterior surface of the tubular member. The tubular member includes a plurality of folds configured to allow the tubular member to expand and contract. This feature allows the leak repair device to be delivered internally to a location within the pipe and then expanded to form a proper seal. An exemplary fold pattern would be the waterbomb origami tube pattern, which can be formed from a single continuous sheet. The aforementioned leak repair device may form a kit with a deployment mechanism operable to inflate the leak repair device at a given location within the damaged pipe.

  • Patent number: 11780411
Abstract: A speed reduction power unit system includes a main power unit operably connected to a vehicle battery and operably connected to a vehicle transmission via a driveshaft. The main power unit includes a primary motor adapted to convert kinetic energy from the transmission to stored electrical potential energy for recharging the vehicle battery. Secondary power units are operably connected to each wheel. Each secondary power unit includes a secondary motor adapted to convert energy to electrical potential energy. The secondary power unit engages to slow the vehicle and generate electrical energy when the vehicle brake is activated. Each secondary power unit is operably connected to the vehicle battery, such that each secondary unit can recharge the vehicle battery. The secondary power units can include internal batteries and may be removable and independently recharged, then reconnected to the system as needed to provide electrical energy to the primary vehicle battery.

  • Publication number: 20230195960
Abstract: Examples are disclosed relating computer simulation environments that comprise output models producing output data and input models waiting for a portion of output data. One example provides a computing system comprising a scheduler configured to determine if prerequisite data is available for each input model. On condition that the prerequisite data is available, the input model is stepped. The output models and input models are maintained within a predetermined number of steps of each other. A router is configured to, when a selected output model finishes a step, copy the output data from an output buffer of the selected output model and send the output data to an output queue. The output data is stored until a selected input model is ready to step the selected frame. The output data is then copied from the output queue into an input packet buffer of the selected input model.
