  • Patent number: 8870018
Abstract: An adjustable sleeve is disclosed that employs a pivot region which allows rotation of the first end of the sleeve relative to the second end of the sleeve. Rotation about the pivot region allows the sleeve size to adapt to many different sizes and tapers of containers. Rotation results in increasing a diameter of the top of the sleeve and decreasing a diameter of the bottom of the sleeve, and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20140304138
Abstract: A method of order allocation is disclosed. The method includes receiving an incoming order, establishing an inner market representing a first portion of an order book which may be defined as a function of an inner market parameter, designating the first portion of the order book as a priority and allocating the first portion of the received incoming order based on the priority, establishing an outer market that represents a second portion of the order book that includes the remainder of the order book not represented by the inner market of the order book, assigning the received incoming order to one of the inner or outer markets as a function of the inner market parameter, allocating a first portion of the incoming order to the inner market utilizing a first-in, first-out (FIFO) algorithm, and allocating a second portion, in excess of the first portion, of the incoming order to the outer market using a pro-rata algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20140259945
Abstract: A window lock assembly accomplishing FER manipulation protection against unintended window opening without using additional components in the typical FER lock assembly by using a passive barrier system to help prevent access to both the lock cam and lock lever handle. The device can include at least one lock assembly mounted on the interior side of the window's inner sash and having a locked and unlocked position. The lock assembly engages with at least one keeper mounted on the outer sash to secure the window. The lock assembly housing has a barrier extending outward from the bottom surface which effectively helps to block access to the cam. The lock assembly housing also has a shroud which extends from the top and side edges which partially or completely covers the keeper and effectively helps to block access to the lever handle.

  • Publication number: 20140143123
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to mechanisms to rapidly detect and respond to situations where a market is not operating in a fair and balanced manner or otherwise where the market value is not reflective of a true consensus of the value of the traded products among the market participants. In particular, the disclosed embodiments continually scan for, rapidly detect and respond to extreme changes, either up (“spike”) or down (“dip”) in the market, such as a “flash crash,” where a precipitous market move occurs. Generally, the disclosed embodiments determine when a market for a particular product moves too quickly in too short of period of time, e.g. the velocity of the market exceeds a defined threshold limit.

  • Publication number: 20140027369
Abstract: A support grid assembly for use in a vessel. The support grid assembly includes panels each including a first wall including a media-supporting screen and a second wall to be supported by the vessel wall inner surface. A manifold is coupled to the panels and is in hydraulic communication with vessel outlet. The manifold and the panels permit fluid to flow through the screen in each panel, through the panels, into the manifold, and through the manifold to the outlet of the vessel, as well as in the reverse direction. At least a portion of the first wall may slope downward toward the manifold, and at least a portion of the second wall may form a bottom surface that is curved to substantially conform to a curvature of the vessel wall inner surface. The panels may be arranged in a circular configuration extending radially from the manifold.

  • Patent number: 8627999
Abstract: A beverage container includes right, left, front, and rear sidewalls that define a closed space there between. The right sidewall defines an opening. The beverage container also includes a bag for storing fluids that is positioned within the closed space. The bag includes a spout for dispensing the fluids. At least a portion of the spout extends through the opening in the right sidewall. The beverage container includes first and second lid members that extend from respective top edges of the front sidewall and the rear sidewall, respectively. The first and second lid members cover the bag when in a closed configuration. In the closed configuration, a side edge of at least one of the lid members is positioned behind at least a portion of the spout and is configured to prevent the spout from falling into the closed space.

  • Patent number: 8624497
Abstract: A THz reverse micromagnetron includes a MEMS-based reverse magnetron configuration in which the anode is located at the center of the magnetron surrounded by a cathode ring. Electrons move radially inward in the combined electric and magnetic cross-fields and can reach orbiting angular frequencies in the THz region, even with a magnetic field of the order of 1 T or less. The THz reverse micromagnetron is portable, operates at room temperature, and can be bright.

  • Publication number: 20140006423
Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for managing an aggregation database. Matching rules that describe filters may be defined to determine how to match a media content record received from an external source to a stored record in the aggregation database. Fuzzy matching may be used to match attribute fields of the received record and stored records. Based on the results of the fuzzy matching, the received primary media content record may be linked to a stored record in the aggregation database.

  • Publication number: 20130309883
Abstract: An improved electrical outlet providing a lockable electrical connection between a male plug and the outlet to securely retain the plug. The method to secure and retain the plug imparts minimal stress to the outlet and to the male plug so as to not substantially decrease the durability of either. The outlet decreases the shocking potential to a user or unwitting child by remaining un-energized when idle, and prohibits movement from its idle position until the outlet has received the plug terminal prongs. The shape of the movable receptacle assembly and its corresponding cavity blocks a child from contacting the outlets power source with a metallic object, while making the power source available to the receptacle assembly when initiated by the user. The outlets locking action steps secure and energize the plug simultaneously during the locking action steps in a user friendly manner.

  • Patent number: 8584029
Abstract: Systems and methods for assisting user interaction with physical objects. A system may include an interactive display surface configured to display visual output and receive a physical object, where the object possesses encoded data including data other than data directly identifying the object. The system may include a computer-readable storage medium storing program instructions executable by the surface computer to implement software applications. In response to the display surface receiving the object, the surface computer may be configured to read the encoded data passively with respect to the object, without using an active electronic interface between the surface computer and the object, and to display a user interface for software applications dependent upon the passively read encoded data, such that one or more elements of the user interface are visually associated on the interactive display surface with the physical object.

  • Publication number: 20130293573
Abstract: A method of operation generates live wallpaper display data associated with a first operating system environment and generates overlay display data associated with a second operating system environment, both operating system environments utilizing a common kernel. The overlay display data is overlaid on the live wallpaper of the first operating system environment. The method may also include generating at least one active application window as a portion of the live wallpaper display data. The embodiments disclosed include an apparatus that performs the above outlined method. The apparatus includes multi-environment display data handling logic, operative to generate live wallpaper display data associated with a first operating system environment. The multi-environment display data handling logic generates overlay display data associated with a second operating system environment, which is then overlaid on the live wallpaper of the first operating system environment.

  • Publication number: 20130298141
Abstract: A method includes providing data and associated contextual information, to a first operating system environment by a second operating system environment, both operating system environments utilizing a common kernel. The data is utilized by the first operating system environment, based on the contextual information. The method may include installing the data as an application file, using the contextual information to understand that the data is an application file. An apparatus that performs the method includes a programmable processor, and memory containing executable instructions. The processor runs multiple operating system environments utilizing a common kernel. The second operating system environment is operative to provide data and contextual information for the data, to the first operating system environment, and the first operating system environment is operative to utilize the data based on the contextual information.
