  • Publication number: 20120053965
Abstract: A method allowing a professional service provider to access client data stored in an online account without storing confidential account information by the professional service provider. In particular, the service provider may register the relationship with the client in a third party information transfer framework where the client approves such registration and download the data from the online account using the confidential account information in a temporary manner. The client data may be stored in a repository available to the service provider based on the relationship registration. In an example, a professional tax preparation software may include functionality to check for newly downloaded client data within the third party information transfer framework, notifying a tax accountant (i.e., the service provider), and may provide a one click access to import the client data directly into the client tax return.

  • Patent number: 8126442
Abstract: A two component highly portable and lightweight system for extending the transmission capabilities of Land Mobile Radio systems into areas lacking coverage due to structures, depth below the earth's surface, or varying terrain or other dead zones lacking coverage. The system utilizes the Radio over IP protocol to transfer two-way audio from one radio to another radio for re-broadcast inside a dead zone over a 900 MHz Ethernet-based point-to-point wireless link. The novel system includes RF to TCP/IP conversion and digital data transmission followed by a TCP/IP conversion to RF radio link and provides components and a method for bridging RF radio into dead zones.

  • Publication number: 20120037635
Abstract: A beverage container includes right, left, front, and rear sidewalls that define a closed space there between. The right sidewall defines an opening. The beverage container also includes a bag for storing fluids that is positioned within the closed space. The bag includes a spout for dispensing the fluids. At least a portion of the spout extends through the opening in the right sidewall. The beverage container includes first and second lid members that extend from respective top edges of the front sidewall and the rear sidewall, respectively. The first and second lid members cover the bag when in a closed configuration. In the closed configuration, a side edge of at least one of the lid members is positioned behind at least a portion of the spout and is configured to prevent the spout from falling into the closed space.

  • Patent number: 8108258
Abstract: Method and apparatus for return processing, including tax returns. A return calculation mechanism may partition out return preparation jobs to a plurality of return calculation nodes. A job scheduler may receive returns and distribute the returns among the calculation nodes according to a load-balancing scheme. The job scheduler may decompose a return into two or more calculation jobs. A job may be an individual return or portion of a return. In one embodiment, the calculation jobs may be prioritized according to dependency. If one job depends on results of another job, the job may be scheduled to execute after the job on which it depends. The calculation nodes may cache calculated data from jobs, and a job that depends on another job may be assigned to a node that caches data from the job on which it depends.

  • Publication number: 20110233223
Abstract: A cup sleeve includes a planar sheet of material that defines a first support member, a second support member, a third support member, a fourth support member, a first ledge member, and a second ledge member. The first support member is adjacent to the first ledge member and the second ledge member. The second support member is positioned substantially opposite to the first support member and is adjacent to the first ledge member and the second ledge member. The first support member and the second support member are configured to rotate to follow an outer contour of a cup when the cup is inserted into a center region of the sleeve in a direction that is normal to a plane defined by the sleeve in an unassembled configuration. The first ledge member and the second ledge member are configured to stay in substantially the same plane as the plane defined by the unassembled sleeve when the cup is inserted into the center region of the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20110233224
Abstract: A container sleeve includes a sheet of material that defines a first edge member and a second edge member. The container sleeve defines an upper cross member with a first end connected to the first edge member and a second end connected to the second edge member, and a lower cross member with a first end connected to the first edge member and a second end connected to the second edge member. The container sleeve further defines a center cross member positioned between the upper cross member and the lower cross member. The center cross member includes a first end connected to the first edge member and a second end connected to the second edge member. A center region of the cross member is configured to be positioned away from a center region of the upper cross member and a center region of the lower cross member to enable the insertion of a container into an opening defined between the upper cross member, the lower cross member, and the center cross member.

  • Patent number: 7977658
Abstract: A flexible infrared delivery apparatus useful for endoscopic infrared coagulating of human or animal blood and tissue or for other uses employs a source of infrared radiation which is not a laser and an elongated flexible fiber optic member which transmits radiation from the source to a contact portion at a distal end of the member and to a material such as human or animal tissue proximate the contact portion. The elongated member has an outer diameter which enables it to be inserted into and through an accessory channel of an endoscope to view the human or animal tissue or material to be treated with infrared radiation. A connector on the proximal end of the member allows the elongated member to be quickly connected to and disconnected from the apparatus where the member is aligned for receiving infrared radiation from the source. The contact portion defines a size, direction and shape of a radiation delivery area from the member to the human or animal tissue or material proximate the contact portion.

  • Patent number: 7979839
Abstract: A method is described which permits a computer programmer to write a program with the assistance of the computer itself. The computer will provide instant feedback, following the procedures herein described, to the result of performing each instruction. Therefore, the programmer may instantaneously observe the working of the program as the computer will perform it. Thus any difference in the result produced by the computer from what the programmer expects to happen may be recognized and, if appropriate, corrected. In a higher order implementation of this method the computer will display icons to link the in-process programming to a working routine resident on a remote computer. Thus, the tools and benefits of so-called Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) can be made available to the programmer. Employing the method of this invention, the computer becomes an integral part of the creative process of writing a program.

  • Patent number: 7860934
Abstract: A system that tracks financial transactions for a user is presented. During operation, the system receives an electronic message which includes one or more parameters for a financial transaction. The system parses the electronic message to extract the one or more parameters for the financial transaction. The system determines a source address for the electronic message. Next, the system determines whether the source address is associated with a user account. If so, the system associates the one or more parameters for the financial transaction with the user account.
