  • Publication number: 20180146430
Abstract: The embodiments of the disclosure include methods and apparatus that allow dynamic configuration of discontinuous reception (DRX) mode based on conditions associated with device use. For example, a device may be operating in a first mode of DRX having short and long DRX cycles that provide a level of user experience that is balanced with a level of power conservation. During operation, changing conditions of device use may indicate that the first configuration of the DRX may be changed to a second configuration by removing the short DRX cycle to conserve power without affecting the user's experience. For example, a user may move out of proximity of the device and may not be affected by a slower speed of data downloading. Based on the changed conditions of device use, the DRX may be changed to operate in a second configuration that may download data slower but consumes less power.

  • Publication number: 20180144015
Abstract: Aspects extend to methods, systems, and computer program products redoing transaction log records in parallel. Different aspects of replaying log records are allocated to different threads, for example, read threads, analysis threads, logical operation redo threads, and page operation redo threads. The different threads can be distributed across different processor cores. Activities at read threads, analysis threads, logical operation redo threads, and page operation redo threads can be performed on an ongoing basis and in parallel with activities at other threads (including user tasks). In some aspects, pre-allocated memory blocks are used in a lock free manner to store log records prior to processing by a page operation redo thread.

  • Publication number: 20180143923
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes a processor that has an on-die storage such as a static random access memory to store an architectural state of one or more threads that are swapped out of architectural state storage of the processor on entry to a system management mode (SMM). In this way communication of this state information to a system management memory can be avoided, reducing latency associated with entry into SMM. Embodiments may also enable the processor to update a status of executing agents that are either in a long instruction flow or in a system management interrupt (SMI) blocked state, in order to provide an indication to agents inside the SMM. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20180146015
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards systems and methods for multipath transmission control protocol connection (MPTCP) management. A first device, intermediary between a second device and a third device, may establish a protocol control structure responsive to establishment of a MPTCP session between the first device and the second device. The first device may maintain, via the protocol control structure, an identification of a plurality of subflows comprising transmission control protocol (TCP) connections in the MPTCP session between the first device and the second device. The first device may convert or translate, via the protocol control structure, subflow-specific sequence identifiers of packets transmitted via each of the plurality of subflows, to sequence identifiers unique across the plurality of subflows and identifying related packets from each subflows to be processed at the third device.

  • Patent number: 9976406
Abstract: A single critically damped acoustic stack yields a wide frequency range as an acoustic transmitter or as an acoustic transducer having particular use in well integrity determination. The critically damped present acoustic stack utilizes a plurality of stacked acoustic elements such as piezoelectric ceramics that are energized in two manners, providing different center frequencies, each producing a respective center frequency of 100% bandwidth to yield an acoustic stack having a total bandwidth exceeding the bandwidth of an acoustic element or the bandwidth of the plurality of acoustic elements. One manner of energizing is to pulse only one of the acoustic elements. The other manner is to pulse a first acoustic element then pulse a second acoustic element after a delay equal to the amount of time it takes for the first pulse to reach the face of the second acoustic element. The acoustic stack is primarily used in pulse-echo analysis of metal casing wall thickness and cement bond quality detection of wells.

  • Publication number: 20180137226
Abstract: Circuit design computing equipment may perform register moves within a circuit design. When moving the registers, counter values may be maintained for non-justifiable elements. The counter values may be maintained and updated on a per element, per clock domain basis to account for register moves across the corresponding non-justifiable elements. The maximum counter value for each clock domain may be chosen as an adjustment value that is used to generate a sequence for resetting the modified circuit design after the register moves. The adjustment value may be bound by a user-specified maximum value. This retiming operation may also be verified by performing rewind verification. The rewind verification involves retiming the retimed circuit back to the original circuit, while respecting the counter values. If verification succeeds, the circuit design may be reset using a smaller adjustment value. If verification fails, a correct counter value may be suggested for each clock domain.

  • Patent number: 9968899
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for detecting catalyst transfer pipe plugging in a chemical plant or petrochemical plant or refinery. The catalyst transfer pipe may extend from a reactor to a catalyst collector and enable the flow of catalyst from the reactor to the catalyst collector. Specifically, one or more sensors affixed to a catalyst transfer pipe may collect sensor data for analysis. Based on one or more detected changes in the sensor data outside a range, a data collection platform may send one or more alerts and/or send one or more signals to a control platform to adjust a flow rate, a pressure differential, or perform another action to clear a developing catalyst buildup and thereby attempt to avoid a catalyst transfer pipe from becoming plugged.
