  • Patent number: 9807004
Abstract: An autonomous network and a corresponding routing method include determining routing paths by a controller, and providing the determined routing paths to a data packet processor located remotely from the controller. The data packet processor routes outgoing data packets, based on information from the controller, through a plurality of switches remotely from the data packet processor. Each switch includes a plurality of network interfaces. For an outgoing data packet, the data packet processor determines a network interface over which to transmit the data packet, and adds an indication of the determined network interface in a header of the data packet. The data packet processor forwards the modified data packet to the switch including the determined network interface. The switch identifies the network interface based on the indication, and transmits the outgoing data packet over the identified network interface.

  • Patent number: 9807007
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a switch in a network of interconnected switches. The switch includes a storage device, a hardware management apparatus, and a layer-2 management apparatus. The storage device stores a forwarding table, which includes an entry comprising a MAC address and an egress port for the MAC address. The hardware management apparatus determines whether a destination MAC address of a frame is present in a hardware table in memory of the switch. The layer-2 management apparatus, in response to a determination that the destination MAC address is not present in the hardware table, looks up a first entry comprising the destination MAC address in the forwarding table, and creates a second entry comprising the destination MAC address in the hardware table based on the first entry.

  • Patent number: 9805784
Abstract: Circuits and methods are described for a DDR memory controller where two different DQS gating modes are utilized. These gating modes together ensure that the DQS signal, driven by a DDR memory to the memory controller, is only available when read data is valid. Two types of gating logic are used: Initial DQS gating logic, and Functional DQS gating logic. The Initial gating logic has additional timing margin in the Initial DQS gating value to allow for the unknown round trip timing during initial bit levelling calibration. DQS functional gating is then optimized during further calibration to gate DQS precisely as latency and phase calibration are performed, resulting in a precise gating value for Functional DQS gating. Providing dual gating modes is especially useful when data capture is performed at half the DQS frequency in view of rising clock rates for DDR memories.

  • Publication number: 20170310418
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards a method for scheduling data packets in a multi-channel packet processing environment. The method may include receiving one or more data packets associated with an incoming signal and inserting the one or more data packets into a queue. The method may further include monitoring a time delay associated with each of the one or more data packets, wherein the time delay indicates a difference between packet arrival and packet departure times. The method may also include sorting the time delay results based upon an increasing order of time delay and determining a total number of data packets associated with each of a plurality of channels. The method may also include scheduling a data packet for processing based upon, at least in part, at least one of the sorted time delay results and the total number of data packets associated with each channel.

  • Patent number: 9800879
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing multi-layer reversible data hiding are disclosed. According to the methods and systems, multi-layer reversible data hiding process may be implemented in two stages. The first stage provides embedding of the sensitive data on a secret layer and hiding the secret layer behind single or multiple layers for secure transmission for intended recipient. Subsequently, the second stage is concerned about retrieving or extracting the hidden sensitive data through proper authentication. In the extraction process, the recipient needs to provide the right authentication code for each of embedded layer in order to reach to the secret layer. Upon unsuccessful authentication of any embedded layer, the proposed method enables an intelligent security technique termed as SMART (Suspect Malicious Activity on Rich Tract), which ensures to protect the sensitive data by suspecting the attempts of theft and intrusion.

  • Patent number: 9798635
Abstract: Allocating resources during failure recovery is provided. A set of one or more service level agreement tiers are identified corresponding to a client workload that was being processed by a failed computing environment. A highest level tier is selected in the set of one or more service level agreement tiers. Recovery resources are allocated in a failover computing environment to the highest level tier sufficient to meet a service level agreement associated with the highest level tier. The highest level tier is recovered in the set of one or more service level agreement tiers using the recovery resources in the failover computing environment. In response to recovering the highest level tier, tier resources of the highest level tier are reduced to a steady state level of processing in the failover computing environment.
