  • Publication number: 20110251997
Abstract: Architecture that addresses an end-to-end solution for logical transactional replication from a shared-nothing clustered database management system, which uses adaptive cloning for high availability. This can be time based using a global logical timestamp. The disclosed architecture, used for refreshing stale clones, does not preserve user transaction boundaries, which is a more complex situation than where the boundaries are preserved. In such a scenario it is probable that for a given data segment no clone of the segment may contain the complete user transaction history, and hence, the history has to be pieced together from the logs of multiple different clones. This is accomplished such that log harvesting is coordinated with the clone state transitions to ensure the correctness of logical replication.

  • Publication number: 20110242424
Abstract: Gradient analysis may be utilized to determine frame and field repeat patterns in input video data. Those frame and field repeat patterns may then be analyzed to match them with characteristic patterns associated with telecine 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown video data, for example. In addition, a progressive detector may use combing analysis to determine whether or not a particular field is progressive or interlaced data. Then, this information, together with a field flag which indicates whether field or frame analysis is appropriate, may be utilized to distinguish telecine 2:2 or 3:2 pulldowns and interlaced and progressive data in some embodiments.

  • Patent number: 8030777
Abstract: Methods of protecting exposed metal damascene interconnect surfaces in a process for making electronic components and the electronic components made according to such methods. An integrated circuit structure having damascene regions with exposed metal surfaces is provided into a closed processing chamber, whereby a first reactant is contacted to the exposed metal surfaces to transform a top portion of the metal layer into a protective self-aligned buffer layer. Reacting molecules of the first reactant with metal atoms of this metal layer forms the protective self-aligned buffer layer entirely within such metal layer. Alternatively, adsorbing surface-active reactant molecules onto the exposed metal surface forms the protective self-aligned buffer layer. A second reactant may be contacted to the protective self-aligned buffer layer to form a self-aligned dielectric cap layer directly over the protective self-aligned buffer layer.
