  • Patent number: 8903423
Abstract: A data communication apparatus capable of creating a new type of communication is provided. Motion information obtaining means 33 obtains information on the motion of an arbitrary apparatus. An other-party apparatus motion determination section 21 makes a determination as to the motion of the arbitrary apparatus on the basis of the information on the motion of the arbitrary apparatus, the information being obtained by the motion information obtaining means 33. A communication determination section 22 determines whether or not communication is to be performed with an arbitrary apparatus on the basis of the motion determination output by the other-party apparatus motion determination section 21. When it is determined by the communication determination section 22 that communication is to be performed, predetermined data communication is started with the arbitrary apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8812502
Abstract: Music contents assigned to play lists are reproduced so as to correspond to user's preference. A music content database 7 has stored a plurality of music contents. A CPU 3 creates genre ranks such that music contents that have been more frequently, for example, reproduced are more highly ranked. In addition, the CPU 3 creates play lists corresponding, for example, to tempos and stores the created play lists in a play list database 8. The CPU 3 selects a play list corresponding to a moving tempo obtained from a tempo detection section 9 and selects music content categorized as a highly ranked genre in the genre ranks from those corresponding to the selected play list. The selected music content is supplied to a decoder and amplifier section 12 and then reproduced from a head phone 14.

  • Patent number: 8741650
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for producing a minus-strand RNA viral vector, which comprise using a promoter comprising a cytomegalovirus enhancer and a chicken ?-actin promoter, to induce the transcription of the genome RNA of a minus-strand RNA viral vector and the expression of minus-strand RNA viral proteins that form a ribonucleoprotein with the genome RNA. The methods of the present invention enable high efficiency production of highly safe minus-strand RNA viral vectors. The methods of the present invention are particularly useful for producing minus-strand RNA viral vectors that are deficient in envelope-constituting protein genes.

  • Publication number: 20130229794
Abstract: Provided is a light source including a light-emitting element, an outer shell that houses therein the light-emitting element, and a base that is provided at the outer shell and receives power from the outside to cause the light-emitting element to emit light. The outer shell is electrically-insulative and light-transmissive. On at least part of the outer surface or the inner surface of the outer shell, an electrically-conductive member is provided. The electrically-conductive member is electrically connected to a grounding terminal of the lighting fixture. According to this structure, an electric charge stored on the outer surface can be discharged to the outside from the lighting fixture. This prevents the attachment of dust to the outer shell, and keeps the luminous flux close to the initial level for a long time period and reduces the amount of maintenance.

  • Patent number: 8449154
Abstract: A mount member (5) has a contact surface (27a) touching the bottom surface of an LED module (3) and protrusions (5a) protruding from the periphery of the contact surface (27a) in the thickness direction of the LED module (3) and regulating sliding motions thereof. A fixing member (6) made of a resilient, plate-like member comprises an opposing pair of flat portions (43) near the contact surface (27a) of the mount member (5) and flat tabs (44) projecting from the flat portions (43) toward the contact surface (27a) touching the upper surface of a substrate (17). The flat portions (43) of the fixing member (6) are fastened to be lower than the top surface of the substrate (17) of the LED module (3). Thus, elastically deformed areas extending from the fastened parts of the flat portions (43) through the flat tabs (44) press the substrate (17) into the mount member (5).

  • Patent number: 8358906
Abstract: By allowing the movement of a user to affect the playback of content, the entertainment characteristic or uplifting spirits derived from content playback itself can be enhanced. The timing at which the user places his/her foot on the ground while walking or the timing at which the user shakes or changes from swinging in one direction to swinging to another direction is detected. Then, content, such as a music piece or moving pictures, is played back by allowing the timing of beats or bars of the music piece or the timing of scene changes or cut changes of the moving pictures to be synchronized with the timing of the movement of the user.
