  • Patent number: 7062245
Abstract: Corresponding to transmission data 101, phase controller 105 is controlled to shift a phase of modulated signal 103 by 0° or 180°. Planes of polarization of modulated signals to be transmitted from antennas 106 and 107 are made different from each other corresponding to transmission data 101. The electric field strength of a signal received at antenna 108 changes corresponding to the plane of polarization, thereby voltage value 113 output from electric field strength detector 111 varies corresponding to transmission data 101, and using this variation, judged result 115 is obtained. Two results, namely, demodulated data 112 and judged result 115 are input to comparing circuit 116, whereby the reception apparatus is capable of obtaining received data 117 with high quality.

  • Patent number: 7044545
Abstract: When a vehicle is rear-ended and a seated user moves rearward in reaction to the rear-end collision, a load generated by a rearward movement of a lumbar portion of the seated user is transmitted from a pressure plate of operating force generating means to an operating force generating mechanism. Then, a pressure roller of the operating force generating mechanism deflects and pulls inner cables of pulling cable devices, thereby moving both end portions of a headrest frame upward. As a result, the headrest frame is moved upward along with headrest supporting brackets smoothly and reliably, whereby a headrest attached to the headrest supporting brackets with headrest stays arranged between the headrest and the respective headrest supporting brackets is moved in the upward-forward direction, that is, toward the head of the seated user smoothly and reliably.

  • Patent number: 7039731
Abstract: A USB cable connects to a USB connector in an electrical/electronic product and a USB connector in a separate type USB unit so that a USB controller and a conversion circuit are connected. The conversion circuit converts a USB signal into an external interface signal which is transmitted to and received from a peripheral device. The external interface signal is transmitted to and received from the peripheral device through an external interface connector. The minimum number of interface connector is selected from various external interface connectors through which the external interface signal is transmitted to and received from the peripheral device. By connecting expansion connectors 5 and 6 in a USB unit and those in another USB unit, the USB signal is transmitted and received between the USB unit and another USB unit.

  • Patent number: 7031719
Abstract: A method of calculating coefficients determining excitation amplitudes and phases for obtaining a desired antenna pattern of a circular array antenna comprising a plurality of antenna elements disposed circularly. Coefficients for a linear array antenna having the same number of antenna elements as the circular array antenna are determined by a Fourier series expansion in integral limits calculated from a beam direction and a beam width that are estimated from incoming radio waves and then are transformed into the coefficients for the circular array antenna. With this method, the beam direction and the beam width of the antenna pattern of the circular array antenna can be set at will. Consequently, this method enables adaptive control of sectored beams of sectored antennas at a base station or the like used for a mobile communication system, thus enhancing efficiency of the use of the antennas.

  • Publication number: 20060033376
Abstract: When a vehicle is rear-ended and a seated user moves rearward in reaction to the rear-end collision, a load movement of a lumbar part of the seated user is sufficiently transmitted from a pressure plate of operating force generating means to an operating force generating mechanism, regardless of an amount of rearward tilting of a seat back. Then, a pressure roller serving as a driven member of the operating force generating mechanism largely deflects and sufficiently pulls inner cables of respective pulling cable devices, thereby smoothly moving both end portions of a headrest frame upward. As a result, the headrest frame is moved upward smoothly and reliably, and a headrest is moved in an upward-forward direction, that is, toward the head of the seated user smoothly and reliably.

  • Patent number: 6999440
Abstract: A TDMA radio terminal comprises a transmitter portion and a receiver portion. A reference signal is launched in the transmitter portion while tuning the receiver portion. At the same time, an internal delay counter is started. The counter counts clock pulses till the reference signal returns through the receiver portion. Letting this pulse count be Nd, a transmission wait time is Nt?Nd. Nt is a transmit timing at the antenna. The Nd counting operation may be triggered by a power on or a signal from a controller. Method for determining the transmission wait time in the production site is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6888608
Abstract: A improved liquid crystal display device including two substrates each having transparent electrode thereon disposed in parallel while keeping a predetermined gap by means of pillar-shaped spacers and a liquid crystal held between said first and second substrates is proposed. In the liquid crystal display device, density or volume of the number of the pillar-shaped spacers provided in the off-display area is higher than those of a density of the number of said pillar-shaped spacers provided in the display area. This change is made continuously or stepwise along areas. The spacers are preferably disposed so that a contact area between the spacer and a rubbing cloth during the rubbing process is minimized, or so that an orientation defective area caused starting from the spacer does not extend into the pixel area, or so that a plurality of spacers are disposed along a flow of liquid crystal from filling port into the gap between the first and second substrate.
