Abstract: The invention is directed to an improved, reliably performable process for preparing triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) by Cu2+-catalysed rearrangement of triallyl cyanurate (TAC) at least 90° C. According to the invention, TAC and, if required, also a Cu2+ catalyst and solvent are fed continuously to a start reaction mixture after onset of the initially inhibited isomerization reaction, the isomerization is performed at from 90 to 160° C. and an amount of reaction mixture equivalent to the amount of reactant is drawn off continuously and sent to the workup. Preference is given to effecting the isomerization in TAIC as the reaction medium.

  • Publication number: 20090149621
Abstract: Polyurethane prepolymers are described which are prepared from 2,4?-diiso-cyanate diphenylmethane (2,4?-MDI), a polyol component and an aliphatic diisocyanate. These prepolymers can be cured with aliphatic, cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic amines to form a cured urethane elastomer. In comparison to cured urethane elastomers based on monomeric 2,4?-MDI, these prepolymers provide elastomers with extended pour life, i.e. they exhibit a slower rate of viscosity buildup after curative and prepolymer are mixed which results in a reduced propensity to crack during the curing process and gives the opportunity to cast larger parts. In comparison to polyurea/urethanes prepared from cured TDI-prepolymers and which optionally include H12-MDI, the prepolymers of the invention have better health and safety aspects.

  • Publication number: 20090014063
Abstract: A single-side contacted solar cell and method for production of a single-side contacted solar cell provide a direct arrangement of a contact grid on one side of an absorber layer. A free surface of the contact grid is coated with an electrically non-conducting insulation layer. An emitter layer is deposited on a whole surface such that the contact grid is arranged between the absorber layer and the emitter layer. The emitter layer is provided with a contact layer. For back face contact, the emitter layer is arranged on a back face of the absorber layer to avoid additional absorptive losses.
