  • Publication number: 20030233607
Abstract: A plurality of pseudo random bit-pattern generators (PRPG), advantageously Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs), having a predetermined length and individual different tap locations for providing a respective sequence of pseudorandom bit-patterns. An output from a predetermined respective tap location at each LSR is fed to a common OR-gate, a selected subset of said LFSRs are initialized with all bit storing locations to “0” in order to generate a respective permanent “0”-bit sequence, and the output of said OR-gate is used for reading the weighted or flat random bit output-pattern thereof. By controlling the number of zero-set LFSRs—a subset of said LFSRs—the weight of the generated output-pattern can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 6655041
Abstract: The invention relates to a roller belt drier. The drying of panel-shaped products often requires the drier to have considerable construction lengths in order to achieve a high capacity. Long roller belt dryers, which are usually equipped with chain drives and a motor for each chain, present the problem that very strong chains are required to transmit the necessary driving forces. When the drier reaches a certain length, it is no longer possible to provide chains that are able to accommodate these forces. According to known solutions, a chain is divided and the drives are located in the centre of the drier. This causes problem s in terms of sealing the drier, as well as extra expense for the driving and tension station. The aim of the invention is to create a drier which has a driving and tension system that is structurally simple and economical even for considerable construction lengths. A chain is equipped with two drives (15, 23), the second drive (23) being integrated in a tension device (24).

  • Patent number: 6608236
Abstract: There is provided a distribution material for personal care products which is a fabric which wicks artificial menses according to a horizontal wicking test a distance of about 1 inch in less than about 1.5 minutes. Materials meeting this performance criteria generally have a pore size distribution with a high percentage (usually more than 50 percent) of pore diameters between about 80 and 400 microns and a density below about 0.15 g/cc. There is also provided a personal care product system having a distribution/retention layer and a pad shaping layer wherein each layer has a stain length ratio of 0.5 or less and the distribution/retention layer has a saturation profile of 4 or less.

  • Patent number: 6354354
Abstract: A film for blinds may be located either in front of a window pane in the conventional configuration or in the space between the panes in the case of a window with multiple glazing in order to provide decoration or shade. The film for blinds has creases which, due to their flexural moment, form a wave profile in the section of the blind that has been unwound, while they form a specific cross-section in the section that has been wound up. The blind winds up neatly and evenly with the layers exactly on top of each other, even when there are many layers and small winding diameters are involved.

  • Patent number: 6348253
Abstract: There is provided a feminine hygiene pad comprising a cover adjacent a capillarity fabric having regions of high and low capillarity, which is adjacent a retention layer. In a preferred embodiment, a creped spunbond layer is used as the cover material and a co-apertured intake/distribution layer and transfer delay layer are the capillarity fabric. Combining these improvements into an integrated absorbent system allows the successful achievement of variable flow management and a successful balance between intake and cover desorption properties. The result is improved multiple intake performance and a clean and dry cover surface during use.

  • Patent number: RE37557
Abstract: In order to dry boards, the boards are guided on racks through a drier and brought into contact with drying air in two stages. In a stage A with a higher drying power, the drying air is supplied at a higher temperature and with an at least average humidity, and in the other stage B, it is supplied at an average temperature and with a low humidity. The waste heat of the outgoing air from stage A is used for preheating the drying air. This process should reduce the consumption of primary energy. For that purpose, a process is known that consists of also using the outgoing air condensation heat. This has the inconvenience, however, of requiring substantially more secondary energy, as important air mass flows are required to transfer heat because of the low condensation temperature. Primary energy should be reduced by using condensation heat without substantially increasing secondary energy requirements.
