  • Publication number: 20050249966
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a microelectromechanical device includes forming at least two conductive layers on a substrate. An isolation layer is formed between the two conductive layers. The conductive layers are electrically coupled together and then the isolation layer is removed to form a gap between the conductive layers. The electrical coupling of the layers mitigates or eliminates the effects of electrostatic charge build up on the device during the removal process.

  • Patent number: 6961893
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) process is provided. The CRC is capable of being performed on data received out of order without having to store and assemble the data. One exemplary method for computing a CRC for a transmitted data stream initiates with performing a CRC process on a first segment of the data stream to generate a first CRC remainder. Next, the first CRC remainder for the first segment is projected. Then, the CRC process on a second segment of the data stream is performed to generate a second CRC remainder. Next, the second CRC remainder for the second segment is projected. Then, the projected remainders are combined to calculate a complete CRC remainder for the data stream in an order independent fashion. Data streams including multiple segments can be handled by the CRC process.

  • Publication number: 20050214602
Abstract: A fuel cell distributed generation system that employs a load following control algorithm that provides the desired output power from a fuel cell on demand. The system includes a current sensor that measures the current drawn from the fuel cell available to satisfy the application load demands. A fuel cell controller receives the measured current and provides a command signal to the fuel cell to increase or decrease its power generation based on the demand. The controller also defines a maximum current that the system can draw from the fuel cell based on its fuel input.
